@@BobOfAllTrades to be honest I think it may be worse to attract new subs People now cannot really identify the channel with the character and this is important (and even more since you have an original appearance which stands out) Of course you can do whatever you want but I think that if you put a picture of you a bit like Jerry rigs dave Lee etc it could really be helpful As of right now the average guy which sees you channel profil pic won't necessarily stop and check it out since its just a generic image for him and won't remember it as well as if it was your face Just saying but it plays a big factor and I noticed tech channels don't take advantage of it unfortunately

They may be quality videos but as long as the audience can't identity themselves to something and or someone and link things with people it's gonna be harder to keep them around. You called it, and I followed. I am in the dire urgence to buy a gaming laptop (mine broke on December). Hence yesterday I pre-ordered an EU clone of the Max-17 with Intel 10875H (mind you, still 875H, not 870H, lol) and RTX 3070 Max-P. Before doing so, I passed the entire 26th Jan day to find any benchmark around to compare the 2 choice. Found that playing at 1440p (the screen it comes equipped) with the Intel or Zen3 is almost the same. RTX3070 Max-P can't be bottlenecked at 1440p. This way I do hope the laptop will ship in less than a month. Yes, I also dreamt to follow the Zen3 bandwagon but you know what: they'll come later (as you said), but above all, they'll come bundled with the costlier RTX you can get. 'You want Ryzen3? You better add those juicy +800 USD for the RTX3080' (even if it gives like no more than 20fps more than 3070), brands say. No thank you my friend. I'll be fine with an 8 core Intel CPU. For 1440p gaming is extremely fine. And if I wait 10-15% more time in rendering / encoding? It's well spent after avoiding paid the 'Zen3 tax' they're asking for.

Appreciate the update, and the content. Probably my favorite laptop reviewer outside of Jarrodstech. Sounds like Ryzen 4000 all over again but worse considering a large number of vendors went with AMD this generation. Will be interesting to see if they can ramp up production with intel skus instead if there is a demand and I would be curious to see if they run into thermal issues as well if they just reuse the same chassis and cooling solution for AMD as they were for an Intel replacement (ie similar issues they ran into going from 7th to 8th gen Intel) I know the situation will be even worse for Ryzen being an Australian as we often get limited SKUs and supply at higher prices. See Legion 5 with 4800H 1660ti delayed massively and priced at 2700 AUD (2065 USD) with a more than 8 week wait, or the G14 with no 120hz option and 2060, or the TUF and the aftershock with the gimped 48wh battery. Ended up settling for a i9 9980h rtx2080mq hp which is great, but more options is always a good thing.

I'm looking at Xmg Neo cause it is kind of what I'm looking for. And would like to reward companies for being up front about what they sell. My last laptop was an Asus scar strix which I didn't have a good experience with (not a trustworthy machine). Asus scar 2021 looks ok on paper but if Xmg Neo thermals are ok and reliable and don't gimp the hardware then I'll go Xmg. Manufacturers reliability please and clarity in specs!

I preordered the Strix 17 when it was announced on the 12th from Memory Express and they got a small batch on the 26th but not enough to fill all the preorders, they told me it might be another 2-3 weeks before they get anymore. It wouldn't honestly shock me if it's a massive supply issue past Q2, the demand is massive.

Have owned two Asus gaming laptops before my current Eluktronics Mech 17, and may need to go with them once again if they are the only ones with 5800H and Rtx 3000 series gpu's that will be available any time within the next month or two. Was ideally looking to spend about $1300 for a 5800H and 3060 package on a 17", but may need to extend the budget to $1500 to be able to nab one..

Great technical video like always! I like the Ryzen mobile approach, but I had an i7 10875h and I'll probably buy that again. Ryzen are really good in terms of performance and power usage, but I feel they need more time to have the support like Intel mobiles have, allowing them to have programs like Throttlestop or XTU. With these programs you can really tune your Intel processor at your will !

But they are really kicking butt and if they offer a product that’s better I’d gladly support them. Really sad it’s not an option due to supply. 😢 Hopefully once they can be ordered and you get some reviews I’ll be excited to see intel have to try and keep my money down the road.

Just my $.02, it would make sense that AMD had to shift almost all their wafers to consoles. Now that console demand has lessened, they can allocate to CPU, GPU and APU. They're going to sell every square mm of silicon they produce, so I bet they're going highest margin. I'll bet that's also why the lenovo legions are coming out in march, it's the same chassis so should just be a drop-in chip change. But they need the APUs and they don't want to mess with air shipping.

Problem is that AMD is fabless. All this production is in TSMC hands. They might have additional work to transform a production line from Sony SOC to Zen3, for example. And remember TSMC is the same company making Apple CPU. They had billions of orders from Apple they simply CAN'T neglect. AMD better stay in queue and wait, sadly.

@@TheMacco26 i dont think console demand has gone anywhere, and dont forget theyre making BOTH xbox and ps systems, from both generations. that and the desktop demand, im betting they rather be close to keeping up on console and laptop for the margins, but they wouldnt sacrifice one for the other. way too high volume to sacrifice. thats why intel focused on laptop and server market, that was their cash cows. not saying they didnt get outdone, but it did take longer

Man!!!!! That's as bad as it gets for me🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️. So give me some advice here. I was planning to buy full on gaming desktop with rtx 3080 and ryzen 5900. But last month I got call from a university regarding my selection for MBA course. Now that changed a LOT of things. Desktop is cancelled as I'll be needing a portable device at college. Now, I had also started my gaming channel last month and surprisingly it's doing alright. So here comes the issue. I don't want to invest in laptop (ideally) if I am purchasing an older generation model, but I can invest if it's rtx 3000 series laptop. So, what should I do? Purchase older model? Or wait? I need at least 1080p at ultra or very high for my channel. And I can wait till May. That's when my college gets started.

Dude just turn the laptop fan off. Set it to turn on only if temp reaches 86 degrees. Use throttlestop bd prochot offset to - 15 to make it thermal throttle at 85 degrees so that the fans never turn on. I commented this before but maybe you missed it.

@@cheesecake6604 depends entirely on the PSU for the system. a 330w brick is the biggest single ive seen in laptops, and that might do, so maybe both the balance and that charger

My case is video editing with QuickSync and Thunderbolt file transfer speeds. If 11th gen can produce faster results over the 6 core Intel solutions I’ll bite. I already low it’ll offer higher minimum FPS over my current solution but I don’t expect it do do any better than Ryzen 5k for gaming.
