Ryzen 7 5700X vs Ryzen 7 5800X - Tested in 2023

I just bought the 5800x for my sons new PC and I wouldnt recommend it. Def go for the 5700x. The 5800X is stupidly hot and you have to play around with undervolting (PBO, Curve Optimser) to try and limit the Ws and reduce the temps. The 5700X at 65W is a much better buy than the stupid 5800X hotbox at 105W.

Agreed I have a 5800x I've limited to 120watts. After having to do that to keep it cooler I upgrade my wife's older rig with a 5700x. No need to tinker there, just give it 3600 ram c16 and enable xmp and she is very happy.

How are the temperatures you have with that Ryzen 5700X now that you changed processors? I have the same problem, I bought the 5800X and it is stupid hot, when doing anything. Do you recommend spending again for the Ryzen 5700X?

as far as I can see in this video, the 5700x never works properly I don't know why, but he has extremely bad clocks and when it works properly then the difference is 1 2 frames I don't know if it is due to the fact that it is the power limit kicking in or

I'd say part of the choice boils down to is what can your hardware (mb - vrms - cooling - psu) deal with. Also looking at it from a budget build upgrade the 5700x seems to be a sweet spot. The 5600x can also compete here. Ok an extra 30$ or so for the 5800x but then maybe having to deal with undervolting - piss on that noise.

Ryzen 5700X $205 and Ryzen 7 5800X $220 in my country. Which one should I choose? In the Benchmarks the difference in FPS is minimal, what differentiates one from the other is the power consumption, temperatures and price... but in my case I think that $15 more difference for a slight increase in performance at the expense of having Almost double the consumption and 10°C more are worth it for me. I have a Gamemax Gamma 600 cooler with a Ryzen 7 3700X and the temperatures range between 60-65°C while gaming, with an ambient temperature of 30°C and 50-55°C with an ambient temperature of 20-22°C What do you think friends?

You could go for the 5700x and have a little more cash for stuff like ram, but if the other parts of your PC are good I see no reason to not go for the 5800x at those prices. Keep it mind it does consume more power so it really needs a nice cooler to keep temps down.

@@twobeefydodos7141 In Croatia 5700x is 198,90€ and 5800x 201,20€ but i look up and all what i see is 100+ fps Anyway and that couple fps is nothing if you have 15+ c and in that way you computer is Louder and generally warm and even GPU take some warm from that soo, in addition, you have 2 fans that will automatically spin stronger, which are the power and processor coolers....

"You can" No... YOUR chip can... you got lucky. The entire reason it's binned as a 5700X and sold at a lower profit margin is because it didn't pass AMD's stability tests at 5800X speeds. Your motherboard may be compensating with superior VRM than AMD gives their test systems.

@@Azmania3000 This is a CPU benchmark. So in order to see how fast each of them is the GPU can't be the limiting factor, which is likely in higher resolutions. So in order to let the CPUs run freely, the graphics are as low as possible so that the CPU becomes the limiting factor and we can see which one performs better. That's the purpose of this video.
