@@musabs5848 It's not so much that the other chips are outperforming it, it's the large margin at which they are doing it, and that it is on it's own under performing. I have 3 rigs, and two of them are the AMD 7800x3D and the other 7950x3D, this does NOT reflect any numbers I've got, and I'm running less powerful GPUs in both rigs.

Returned the 7950X3D before opening the box after watching review impressions after a year of owning. Made a lot of progress for gaming but still has issues with 3d cache scheduling that require tuning. I'm not willing to do that since I only game and went with 78003dx.

I'm so torn between the 7900x3D and 7800x3D, I only play a few games, Overwatch, Albion Online, Guild Wars 2. Other than that, I do simple things on the PC. I am having someone build me a PC and they only have the 7900x3D in stock, but deep down I feel I should go with the 7800x3D. I'm sure either would be fine, I just don't know.

Take the 7900x3d. You got here 4 cores more (12) as 7800x3d.

@@hardwareforgamers- yes 4 cores more and 12 total versus the 8 in the 7800x3D, but when it comes to 3D V-Cache, the 7900x3D only uses 6 cores for the 3D V-Cache on one CCD opposed to all 8 with 3D V-Cache on one CCD in the 7800x3D.

I have tested the 7800x3d vs 7900x3d in 12 Games with 5 resolution. Summery the 7900x3d performs better, specialy in Ghost of Thushima or Alan wake 2. The 7800x3D ist only in two games a little bit better. The 7800x3D is more hyped than it actually performs, and I previously thought that the 7950x3D was the best gaming CPU. But it only differs very slightly from the 7900x3d.

@@hardwareforgamers- yeah your tests are what made me question whether to go with the 7900x3d over the 7800x3d. But I don't like the idea that the 7900x3D has to transfer between each CCD.

@@msd1611 Both are great CPUs, the difference between the two is not that big. Either purchase would be the right decision. Buy the CPU you feel comfortable with✌️

You have to make some type of configuration via commands, by software or by BIOS to the 7950X3D in relation to the deactivation of one of the two CCDs or it can already perform well from stock

I ordered a PC with 7900X3D, and a 4080 super and I guess I should of researched it more, looks like I would of been better off with the 7800X3D. Why are picking computer parts so complicated :(

It's not usually this complicated. AMD just decided to intentionally cripple the 7900X3D this time around. They only X3d-ified 6 of the cores, as opposed to the 7800X3D's 8. But you'll be fine. In just about everything other than gaming, the 7900X3D is still better.

@@hardwareforgamers- would agree even though the 7800x3d has 2 more Vcached cores the 7900x3d makes it up with higher clocks abit more Vcache and if you also into streaming or any other productivity the 7900x3d blasts the 7800 easy, also heard amd made changes in the latest drivers/bios for win11 to fix the core schedular to run games on the Vcached cores and run everything else on the other ccd, sitting here at the fire button if i should go with teh 7800 or the 7900 on my next pc build

Maybe you wait for the next gen of Ryzen 9000 series, end of July. I think the prices for 7800 or 7900 go down.

@@hardwareforgamers- Eu comprei um Ryzen 9 7900x3d recentemente, e pelo que vi nos benchmarks antigos o Ryzen 7 7800x3d era melhor em quase todos os jogos. Porem no PUBG que é meu jogo favorito, eu vejo meu ryzen 9 7900x3d sendo melhor atualmente que um R7 7800x3d, pode ser alguma atualização, não saberia explicar, porem meu processador esta desempenhando algo absurdo, muito diferente do que ja tinha visto nos ultimos benchmarks.

For those saying is something wrong with the 7800X3D: I don't know about that but what I know is that the frenquency for the 7900X3D and the 7950X3D are way lower from what should be, as an example the 7900X3D should clock between 5085 MHz up to 5250 Mhz which gives a fairly good amount of performance, for the 7950X3D it should clock even higher, they're closer to the frequency of the 7800X3D when they should clock higher than that since AMD probably did cap the 7800X3D frequency, why they did that? Who knows, maybe for stability, maybe for effiency or maybe so the 7800X3D don't kill the sales of the other 2 X3D Skus of the 7000 Series because they created an absolute monster of CPU for gaming with high efficiency.

lemme answer that question. those speeds are correct for a stock 7950x3d. tuning the curve optimizer lower would make it run frequently around 5250 mhz but still around 5000mhy average. why 5250 mhz? because that is hard coded by AMD foe the 795ßx3d

I would prefer the 7950x3D ist hast more cores as 7800x3D. I some games it perform better. The tachi ist a beautiful mobo. If you wont overclock your CPU Take a cheaper mobo. Safe your Money ✌️

Bruh cpu utilisation in 4k requires very minimum I would suggest get an i5 13gen or ryzen 5 7600x

i see a 7900x3d brand new in the box for 300 with a receipt on fb market ,that's a steal to me. im very frugal and buying a 7800x3d at 368.00 with tax is not appealing to me but 300 is😃

[FR] Explication : Le Ryzen 7 7800X3D est supérieur au Ryzen 9 7900X3D d'environ 2 à 3 % en performances de jeu, car le 7800X3D possède un seul chiplet de 8 cœurs avec un cache mémoire L3 de 96 Mo. Cela permet au processeur de stocker directement plus d'informations dans le cache interne, plutôt que de solliciter la RAM. En revanche, le 7900X3D dispose de deux chiplets de 6 cœurs chacun, pour un total de 12 cœurs, mais seulement le premier chiplet bénéficie d'un cache L3 de 96 Mo, tandis que le second chiplet possède un cache standard. Cela explique cette légère différence de performance, malgré le fait qu'il possède plus de cœurs. À noter également que le fait qu'il possède deux chiplets nécessite une interconnexion entre eux, ce qui augmente légèrement la latence. This is incredibly fake. If you look at any other benchmarking video, such as those by Hardware Unboxed, the 7900x3D is slower than both the 7800x3D and 7950x3D.

I hear there was a patch to the 7900 recently (don't know how recent) but users reported this patch heavily increased performance.... I don't know by how much is that but I'd like to think likely since the video is a month ago this is after the patch.

@@ryanhernandez5369 I don't know about that. The users may have just scheduled their cores properly, which'd increase performance, since you'd be prioritizing the use of the 3D cores.

But I'm telling you that I DO KNOW of confirmed reports of a new patch releasing to the CPU that heavily improved performance.... I'm saying it's more of a possible that he did that.... Or maybe purchased one with the latest patch installed and that's why the older videos don't match in performance

That was an entire year ago, before driver/chipset updates were available. the 7800x3d released after the other 2 models, so they had more time to refine it.

I believe they have fixed the issue with the 3D V-Cache. I think there are 2 cores that go into park mode when playing games with the 9 7900X3D, preventing the V-Cache from being activated, thanks to Windows. If I'm not mistaken, I was researching and looking for comparisons, and it seems that thanks to Windows 11 and Xbox Game Bar, the two missing cores are activated, and consequently, the V-Cache is activated in games, increasing performance. Could you tell us what operating system you are using and if you are using Xbox Game Bar?

It definitely is. Before its price drop, it was horrendously frowned upon because of the price/performance ratio. Now it’s actually worth $329 and honestly seems like the better deal for the money compared to the other two graphics cards

I checked the CPU 7950x3d and the 7900x3d again in 12 games in 5 resolutions. Unfortunately, the settings for Ghost of Thushima and Alan wake 2 were set incorrectly. Мне кажется вместо 7800x3d rayzen 3600😂 такого быть не может, сколько тестов уже вышло и еще тесты днем, на другом ночью и в третем еще другое время суток
