Jayz2Cents review are also interesting. But more importantly. Learn to analyse results and think for yourself. Evaluate different sources. Including the results in this video. The new Ryzen CPUs are not bad, but they are not a big step forward either. If you are primarily a gamer, you should probably stick to the AMD X3D models. Ill probably wait for next gen intel before I decide on anything. Im mostly a "desktop user", lots of idle time and I just want a dead silent pc most of the time. AMD use roughly 5x more power at idle compared to intel. About 23,5W for R7 9700x (which is great for an AMD), but intel is at about 4,3w. I have seen it in some 7700 vs 7700X test as well, the 7700 is locked to 88W in many games, its an AMD thing when they cap power they just let the cpu clock as high as it can at that power cap. so in games that the 7700X hoover around 90-110W the 7700 is locked to 88W and lose like 200-400MHZ, if the game is not heavy they both use the same power for about the same clocks. the *9700X* just act more like the 7700 than the 7700X. in few games u can see the 7700X and 7700 use less then 88W but the 9700X still use 88W so sometimes its less efficient then 7700 O_O

Seems like the new gen only improved in other workloads than gaming significantly... so no upgrqde time for gamers. But AMD said they are planning to optimize x3d CPUs in different ways (more ways than 7000x3d) so that one might be a surprise coming in a few months.

Why AMD shows so low results in most games? It's new 9700 processor not an old 7800, but Intel beats it with greater results in many modern games. We need comparison of 9950 vs 14700K to understand what is going on. I suppose that many modern games engines provide threads parallelization with a low load for each thread. For example, 10 threads with 30% load is better than 2 threads with 60% load.

The game does not test the processor. It depends a lot on the optimization of each producer.

@@Daniel_Martin777 Probably no, 88w locking allows the processor to show 5,3Ghz freq that is obviously enough. I bet on modern games optimization.

I bet once again like all mad stuff. New biso, mobo, and chipset drivers theae will mature just fine. Also when they push higher wattage. Who knows. Still a better xpu than an intel that suffers from currosion and crashing, with no refund from intel. Also not worth upgrading for the 4k gamers. We need better gpus to be honest.

People often forget that AMD's "X" series chips are designed with enthusiast overclockers in mind, offering plenty of headroom for manual tuning. If you’re not into spending weeks fine-tuning memory settings and CPU voltages in the BIOS, these chips probably aren’t for you. Instead, consider opting for the 3D or X3D variants, which are optimized for top-tier gaming performance right out of the box, with minimal tweaking needed.
