Are there many benchmarks that run on Linux as well as Windows? It would be interesting to see if there's still as big of a performance difference between the OSs as was reported early after the release. I think we could see an increase in numbers of people migrating to Linux in the near future because of things like Copilot and Recall. I'm sure all the unnecessary background and idle tasks running constantly in Windows must have a negative effect on benchmarks.

That sounds about right temp-wise. There's two options: 1) Set the TjMax yourself in the BIOS. 2) Check what's the PPT in full load scenario and reduce it by 10% in the BIOS. Both approaches will give you lower temps under full load.

Seems stable with above, now testing with looser mem timings at 6200 mhz. is also stable I will tighten memory timings and see if perhaps the large capacity IC are more sensitive and more difficult to run 6200mhz AND tight factory timings.. even though it should run 32-39-39 TRAS 38 may not be stable... we shall see

Dude I love you! This is the best Overclocking video I've ever seen. Built my system with the 9950X two days ago and spent the whole weakend tweaking my memory, but I tuned it for 6000Mhz since I read it was the best frequency. How much does the actual memory frequency affect performance, For example would 6400 CL30 be better than 6000 CL26, than I would need to spent another 20 hours on memory tweaking that's exhausting.
@SkatterBencherАй бұрын
I don't expect huge differences in real-world scenarios like games, but from the benchmark results it appears memory tuning does provide extra "oompf". The performance is not tucked away in the primary timings but rather in the unoptimized secondary and tertiary timings. That's why I usually leave the primaries at EXPO and use the memory preset to tune the sub-timings.

I have 9950x with 360mm aio and i accidentally overvolted to constant 1.35 volts and underclocked to 5.1ghz bcuz im just testing things learning on my own tuning. I benchmarked in cinebench 23 and hit 103c with average 96c. The max safe temp advertised for this cpu was 95c. Now im panicking over my cpu already having degradation by the first week using it. I undid everything and now my cpu doesnt go above 75c stress test with auto clockspeed & voltage on with pbo on 150mhz+ and curve optimizer and shape manually tuned. But now my cpu goes upto around 1.4 volts while idle. Is this bad? Is my cpu damaged and how can i tell if it is? I want to prevent further degradation if so. Ive tried searching many forums but nobody has clear answers. Thanks for any help❤
@SkatterBencher7 күн бұрын
Your CPU is not damaged and 1.4V idle on desktop is normal. It's boosting to 1.4V because there's no load on the system and it uses the high frequency to quickly get some background tasks done. It's entirely within spec.
