@@dougparker9127 But but, they can change! I don't trust Intel's 15th generation (whatever it's called) will be able to rectify everything. Only the manufacturing issues. The runtime parameters can be scaled back to safe levels but then performance probably won't be up to par. 2 generations from now is when I expect Intel to come back swinging. We should all want both of them competing agaisnt each other. I'm glad AMD's server business is taking a chunk out of Intel and the X3D consumer CPUs are a welcome kick in the butt. But I also don't want AMD becoming complacent.

They will still be neck to neck trading blows or maybe 5-10 % lead ( max ) for 9800x3d if it is ever released.. X3D chips are more sensitive to cache requirements like games. And not all games benefits from the additional cache that's available. Moreover 7800x/x3d are single CCD elsewhere 9950x is dual CCD. I highly doubt AMD is gonna make an x3d version of the 9950x based on 7950x3d lukewarm reception. Different chips for different segments of the market. I'll take the 7950x/9950x any time of the day as it suits my requirements. Still bidding my time to sell off my current 5950x rig.

For me are important 2 stats as a CSgo2 player. Last line in video called "latency" in ms (mili seconds) and second on voltage from procesor in C.PWR. In every geme 7800X3d has almost half requirement for power delivery for CPU. Like 74 wats vs 144 wats which is madness. It effects way of cooling procesor and it will be way easier to cool 7800X3d over this new 9950X Latency in CS check for example CSGO 2 in time 7:28 when bomb explodes. There new 9950x hits over 6 ms (625 -408 fps = 217 fps drop in few ms ) while 7800 keeps on low 1.7 latency stays (625 -548 = 77 fps drop in few ms) 7800X3D is definettly a winner in power consumption and in constant lower latency in ms.

Dual CCD's chips are well documented to be generally weaker in games due to the overheads having two CCD having to communicate with each other. 7800x3d is just a single CCD. Try comparing both side by side on pure productivity workloads and you will see 9950x stomp all over 7800x3d. Dual CCD's are mainly for heavy workstations and the occasional gaming in between without having to get a separate rig solely for gaming. For a fact i know this is because i've upgraded my 3700x to 5950x due the nature of my requirements as i run multiple monitors, tabs, folding, emulator and the occasional gaming all in one machine. Something my old 3700x can barely handle. I can enjoy the best of both worlds. Game and work all in one rig. This is afterall a gaming focused channel. So no surprises here on the results. It's to be expected.

Another big smile for 7800X3D owners. Newer gens often disappointing but at the same time more expensive. you should go for the 7900XTX it's match made in heaven. scores higher than the 4080S in 3DMark, it's less expensive and synergizes with Ryzen processors with SAM, Infinity cache 3.0, and smart shift.

there would be 0 difference between them. but the 9950x is 100-200% better in multitasking and productivity, hence why its the much better CPU. If you have a 4090/4080 , you wont play at 1080P low settings where CPU takes over anyway so if u use ur PC for anything other than just gaming, the 9950X wins hands down

4k doesn't really test the processor it's mostly gpu bound at that point. 1080p leans more heavily on the processor.

Cache is the key in gaming. that's how intel makes their i7 better than i5, by cutting the cache Ryzen 9 uses 2x CCD, and they have to communicate with eachother that's where the performance loss happen between cpus and caches.
