really awesome build Matt, well done! i would just make a little bezel for the screen and i think it would look much nicer if you turned the PSU 90 degrees so the fan faces out, if it fits, so you have a pretty clean 4x4 fan array and we dont have to see that ugly sticker. it also might not protrude from your frame? you could then even put a bit of a mesh over the whole thing to protect the open fans from cheetos.

I know you don’t want to cut the box itself too much but I would add a male to female power cable and a malt to female cat6 mounted to the side of the box. That way you can have your power run to the back of the box as well is optional Ethernet running to the back of the box. I think those two things would clean up the wires running from the inside of the box itself.

Suggestions- put in another wooden dowel up top to act as a shroud to cover those PSU cables. Order yourself a wraith prism. You can probably find one for twenty bucks on eBay, it will look better. Get yourself some AMD decals to cover up those red dragon decals on the fans for the GPU.

Should have done an inset mounting for the monitor screen. Instead of attaching it on the outside, make a slit on the inside and slide the tabs in before securing with screws. That way, you can use the wood to inset the button panel as well and spiff it up.
@DoomWalker424 жыл бұрын
I actually built something like this! It had a 24 inch monitor though and was laptop style not vertical like this one. Though the box was bigger and not as nice as this. But it got too heavy to carry around. Though I used a GTX 1060 3gb and i7 4770 at the time. I like your version way better because standing up there is actually room for mouse and keyboard. You could add a couple of Noctua 80mm fans that would go nicely and maybe a power button from Amazon for like 5 bucks. You could also add a wireless Bluetooth dongle, and USB/audio jack hub. To attach the frame why not use that double sided tape since it would be the easiest way and you don't have to do anymore drilling. You can then have the frame be removeable too.

my only change that i would make, is to add a dedicated power and reset button to the wooden insert, that way it's easier at a lan party to just open up, connect to power and internet, and get gaming. maybe find out a way to store the extra's(mouse, keyboard, power cables etc) inside the box without being able to move around too much and potentially damage the components. and maybe a slightly beefier cooler as well, considering Ryzen tends to get kinda hot, but other than that, i would likely make it about the same way(if i had the box already)

Only things I would add would maybe make a whole frame around the monitor, this would let you sink the buttons into the frame and make it look more whole, while also making the monitor look flush. I would try and use some form of wire wrap around the monitor power cable, and hdmi to make it look like one single cable. The open space for plugging in cables, I think doing a painted acrylic sheet with a rgb strip behind it would not only get some light in there when you need to plug cables, but also cover the open space to make the box look a bit more filled.. and maybe attach the acrylic to a hinge. Same thing for the power supply, as its a bit of an eye sore with the wires. otherwise, solid build and my suggestions are pure cosmetic.

I would prehaps put the PSU on the bottom left and have the cables for the display routing under the right side of the GPU. I'm just worried about the PSU falling. Or for the PSU, you could clamp two pieces of wood 90 degrees, cut out a hole for the psu fan, screw the wood onto the PSU with the provided screw holes with a 90 degree bracket that reaches to the other piece of the wood. From there mount the other end of the 90 degree bracket onto the frame. You'd have to move the frame slightly to the left for that.
