I had this problem with my 2020 RZR. Pulled into the motel from riding 86 miles during the day and stopping to top off my tank with gas. When we went back out to go to dinner there was absolutely no starting response from the machine. 5-6 guys I was riding with said the same thing, sounds like the Polaris RZR brake pressure switch. Go back home and into the dealer. SURPRISE SURPRISE it turned out to be the IGNITION SWITCH! I was surprised, the mechanics at the dealership were all surprised. So it just may not be the brake pressure switch. Just head's up! Richard

You hit the nail on the head bro. I have been having this problem intermittently over the past 1.5 years. Sometimes it work sometimes it doesn't. I also have the spring brake thingy as well and wondered the exact same thing about hauling it with the parking brake engaged and rupturing the sensor internally. I was the caboose in a night ride and my turbo xp4 wouldn't start and no one noticed that's when I had enough. I even cleaned it with electrical cleaner and that only temporarily fixed it. I just purchased part today and will install tomorrow night. Thanks for the video bruh!

My Son’s and my Turbo S had the exact same issue at the exact same time and both do have spring brake thingy. Love the SBT, but not putting it on to haul the RZR anymore!

Mine behaves exactly like yours. I have the Spring Brake Thingy also but mine was doing it before I put that on. It’s a known problem with these models. Mine finally went out about to change it.

I have the brake fluid thingy too and was wondering the same thing. I seldom use it except on steep slopes so it’s easier to get out of park. I had my wife drive in the trailer where it sat for a week or two… didn’t realize she even knew about the brake thingy until I went to take it out of trailer. That trip I started having intermittent problems but already knew about pressure switch. Just got it today. Then looking for how hard it is to get to I ran across your video and feel validated in my thinking about the brake thingy! Lol

I watched this video a while ago and I believe it was you that commented on using an brake lock. I have the super Atv brake lock and I used it overnight every night for a week in TN and the last day when we were done riding and I shut it off it wouldn’t start back up. Bought a new switch and have not put it in because I haven’t used the brake lock since then and it starts everytime. 2019 Turbo XP.

I think your correct about the break thingy I have a sloped driveway and I put one on my brand new 2023 Rzr pro r and had my pressure switch go out on my deep in the trails put the car in limp mode. Luckily I was about unplug the sensor harness and at least get back. But I’ll be removing the brake thingy or modifying it so it’s not using as much pressure.

I've had this problem twice now. (2018 XP 1000 Turbo) I have an emergency brake but after the first switch went out I pretty much stopped using it....but yesterday (3/27/23) it's doing it again.... so I don't think it's the E-brake. I might change to a different brake fluid this time. Polaris makes a great machine...hopefully they research KZbin. Can-Am owners love it when a RZR fails. Polaris owners are use to Can-Am's constant failures...the one's where ya gotta wench it up onto a trailer.

I think you are on to something. I have the spring brake thingy and always have it engaged when trailering and in storage. Didn't think twice about it until now as I had to have my brake pressure switch replaced this summer. Only gonna engage it while on the trails from now on.

Very possible that the prolonged pressure messes up the switch. Might be something good to throw in my truck just in case.

It’s probably not your brake pedal spring lock because my 2017 General 4 is going out and I haven’t put the brake pedal lock on mine yet. Seems like a part problem. Guess I better replace mine before it leaves me stranded.

I’ve had two of the spring brake things . The only reason I remotely said anything about it because it went out right after i installed it but from what I’ve seen your right . Just a faulty part

Funny, was just out on the trail, and my brake pressure sensor went out, jumped the wire to get back. But what’s funny, right before this trip I installed a spring brake thingy, towed 4 hours away. Hmmm

@@georgiaclayoffroad6416 you can adjust the brake pedal to where you don't have any more pressure than you need when spring brake thingy is applied.

My 2015 XP1K has the spring thingy but no brake or starting issues. I'm having the intermittent speedo and power steering issue. I've heard that it can be caused by the brake switch. Any truth to that?

You can keep a piece of wire in your RZR so if your break solenoid goes bad, you can put that piece of wire inside the connection to the other side of the connection and that would be your jumper so if you get stuck on the trails and your break solenoid goes bad and you can’t get it started jump it
