Long Travel Kit Next ?! Been thinking about this for a while.. What long travel setups are you guys using and how are you liking them ??

The Off-Road Adventure Channel I have the same car with the HCR elite long travel kit and I was hesitant to spend the money but I would do it a million times over, the king shocks are absolutely amazing and it takes the car from mild to serious. Check out my instagram @smehr1 👍🏻

My buddy has has a the hcr long travel. He loves it but still can’t lose me on the trail and all I have is the dual rate spring kit / sway bar from shock therapy. Less than half the price. I love it. Also he has to take his tires off every time he load it in the toyhauler. I don’t.

Your razor looks really nice, you did a great job on it. I just ordered a roll cage from Madigan for my XP 1000 4 seater. I can't wait to get it.

I have to compliment you on an awesome job with your rig. She looks really great, but you've done some really smart ride dial-in's. I'd be interested in how you like the 4 seater. I'm on the east coast too but we have lots of wide open trails, turning radius isn't an issue, but I wonder about getting hung up with a longer wheelbase. I don't really NEED a back seat but a lot of guys keep talking about better stability with a LWB, plus room for the dog would be cool, or for gear, or once in a blue moon when I'd actually have people back there... IDK,,, How about you? Do you feel like you're getting the value out of the 4 seater? Sorry for writing a book in the comments, lol, this is a really great video BTW, thanks a bunch.
@TheOffRoadAdventureChannel6 жыл бұрын
Hey thank you for the kind words, really appreciate it. Funny because I was just talking about this exact topic the other day, 2 vs 4 seat. I won't say never but I plan to stay in the 4 seat category regarding future rigs. I've driven a 2 seat car and it was fun but the back end was much more active. I don't often have passengers either but the 4 seat setup really shines everywhere. Stable/predictable in sand dunes. Really holds/sticks to its line in high speed turns. The added wheelbase has been great for rock crawling and I think works better in high speed whoops. No doubt the 2 seat car would be beneficial is some aspects but I think you get more performance for you money with the longer wheelbase. I also do like the option to invite people that don't have anything to ride or have never experienced off roading. My dog likes trail riding occasionally as well.. haha I'd have to agree with your buddies on this one 👍

Save your beans and go with a Shock Therapy full stage 4 kit and you will be blown away. If you are within driving distance of Phoniex I recommend to take your car there loaded the way you drive and let them do the work there. Schedule your appoint meant in advance and you will be in and out the same day. Cost is the same and you don't have to touch a thing. I drove across the country to have them do mine and they were awesome. The owner took the time to go over everything in detail and I have been extremely happy. I have a ton of aftermarket stuff in my XPT but if doing it over the ST suspension would be one of the very first things done. It completely transforms the car. I like the stock seats too, and since doing the ST suspension I have no need for suspension seats.

Love the cage tire combo, how tall is it from floor to rack? And Im 6'4" how much clearance do you have above helmet.
@TheOffRoadAdventureChannel4 жыл бұрын
From concrete to the top of the rack I have 75" with 32" tires. I'm also 6'4 and I fit fine under the roof. However if I have my adventure helmet on, which is pretty thick with a peak on it. I can bump a bit over rough terrain. The PRP seats added a good inch of height though, never really touched before they went in.

Did you gain any leg room with new cage/ seats.
@TheOffRoadAdventureChannel4 жыл бұрын
With the seats yes, they lifted the position by an inch and at our height that makes a nice difference. The cage doesn't add any room though.

Awesome RZR and great videos! I have the same set up with similar upgrades. My question is did your Polaris warranty get void with the ECU tuned upgrade? Also any issues running 32” tires rubbing or clutch issues? I’m running the same BOV upgrade charge tube and Gibson dual exhaust might be ready for a upgrade Tune.
@TheOffRoadAdventureChannel6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I believe you will void your warranty once you tune the ECU so make sure your OK with that before you do it.. My warranty was pretty much up when I pulled the trigger on the tune. The 32" tires rubbed a little bit a full turn with the stock A-arms. Have not rubbed since replacing with the forward off-set Super ATV high clearance setup. I could feel the power loss with stock clutching. I ended up swapping out the clutch weights and springs with the factory Polaris parts used in the Turbo S setup, feels great!

The Off Road Adventure Channel Thanks for the Info I will definitely wait after my extended warranty to upgrade. You been hitting some nice Trails in Cal have you tried Bee Canyon Truck Trail?

How did you get your stock steering wheel off? Did your center cap have 6 bolts?
@TheOffRoadAdventureChannel6 жыл бұрын
Honestly I can't remember 6 center bolts. I can tell you I tried to pop it off with brute force and it didn't work.. I ended up using using a piece of metal and several nuts/bolts to pop it off. I'd look for a cheap steering wheel removal tool if possible.
@jjl465076 жыл бұрын
The Off Road Adventure Channel I meant the center cap. Sorry it has what look to be 6 fasteners on it.

If you buy aftermarket seats you will know why the stockers suck. Once you ride with a new seat you will never stay stock in anything.
@TheOffRoadAdventureChannel6 жыл бұрын
ryan marcum You know your probably right about that. When we get the bench seat in the back for the dog I'll get fronts to match. I'm sure I'll see what I've been missing !

@cruisingthethaiway68816 жыл бұрын
Your ride hight is way to low. It will effect the ride quality do to internal bypass... I used the same A-arms too. The ride hight needs to be set with the car loaded the way you use it with full tank and people seated. You do need real springs and seats do make a big differance. The stock springs make for a very rough ride, they are junk and not safe. Check out the video I posted. Nice rig dude.
@TheOffRoadAdventureChannel6 жыл бұрын
Nor'easter Playa You make a good point on the Ride Height man. I should adjust all of them to suit the weight. 👍thanks I appreciate it! What springs did you use?
@cruisingthethaiway68816 жыл бұрын
Shock Therepy, but had to deal with a rude dude, he screwed up the order. SDI was very helpfull to fix a typical problem from ST. I would recommend Eibach springs or SDI. The springs made a huge differance! It went from a bone shaking out of control death ride to a smooth very controlled Cadillac pleasure ride. Over Jumps the stock springs makes it noise dive, scarry as hell. The new springs it takes flight smooth and flat, landing feels like a soft plop on a pillow. It's a completely different machine. The crossovers helps to dial it in for how you load and use it. The one thing I would highly recomend for this car is getting the correct offset wheels. The 15" DWT with a 6+1 offset works perfectly with the geometry of this car. Any deviation from that offset will have some negative effects on both handling and ride. I also found that Polaris put a lot of rear toe in for use in sand dunes. In Maine we don't do dunes. So for better handling in all other conditions I added GM starter shims on the front side of the rear hubs so now it has 1/4" total toe in rather then 3/4" it had. It dose over 90mph and very stable on pavement... ASE Master Tech retired.
