I would hope most of the roofs damaged in wind storms and tornados the past few weeks are replaced with metal roofs. Actually, the insurance companies may require it.

Ya I wish we used metal roofs on all buildings in the south west with no snow load.. keep the pitch low and do metal.. as soon as the pitch gets above like 26 degrees the person installing the system wishes they had the day off.. I honestly think we should do away with 26+ pitch roofs and just build better snow management systems. Installing anything on any type of roof at 26+ degrees is pretty torturous especially if the worker has to work on the roof for multiple days. pretty much expect excruciating pain in your feet every night. lol But ya steel is "cradle to cradle" and is the best material to use.. definitely better than comp-shingle and asbestos tiles.. lol

$12 per bracket X 4 brackets per module + 49 cents per screw X 4 screws per bracket... I'm always shocked that all the supporting hardware in a solar install is what drives the price up so much. I mean, it really gets ridiculous what some of these companies are charging for this stuff.
