Ingredients:
Chicken: 700gm
Onion: 3 nos chopped
Garlic: 4 nos big size
Ginger: 15gm
Tomato: medium size 2 nos chopped
Curd: homemade or packet 1/2 cup
Green chilli: 2 nos
Potato : 2 nos medium size
Salt and sugar as per your taste
Turmeric powder: 1 tsp
Cumin powder: 1 and 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder: 1tsp
Chilli Powder: 1&1/2tsp
Any curry masala: 1tsp
Red Chilli Powder
Coriander Leaves for Garnishing
Whole garam masala dust(Green cardamom 3 nos, cloves 3 nos, cinnamon, piece of mace, javitri)
For tempering: 1 bay leaf, 1 red chilli, 2 cardamom, 2 cloves, cinnamon
Mustard oil
Procedure:
Wash chicken properly. Marinate chicken with 1tsp salt, turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp chilli powder and curd. Rest aside for half an hour. Chop onion, tomatoes. Cut potatoes into 4 or 5 pieces. Make paste of garlic and ginger or chop it. Heat 4tbsp oil in kadhai, add green cardamom, bay leaf, cinnamon and red chilli. Saute for few seconds, add chopped onions saute till it becomes transparent, add tomatoes, ginger garlic paste and saute till the tomatoes becomes soft. Add coriander powder, cumin powder, salt as per your taste, chilli powder, kashmiri mirch powder, slitted green chilli and saute till the oil releases from spices. Add marinated chicken, saute for 6-7 minutes covering lid. Keep the gas flame medium low to medium range. Keep stirring every 2-3 minutes gap or till the water released from chicken dries up. Add sugar and potatoes, mix everything well and add little amount of water. Cook for 10-15 minutes covering lid or till the chicken and potatoes are boiled. Meanwhile make dust of green cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon, small piece of mace, javitri. Add 1tsp of prepared masala and 1tbsp coriander leaves before flaming off the gas. The delicious chicken curry is ready to serve hot with rice, pulao.
