Very interesting. Before I watch part 2, does anyone know if it was Haile Fida who changed the Ethiopian Alphabet that used to be used by Oromos to the Latin-based Alphabet? Thanks for verifying he was Meson and not Ehapa. Meson were more matured in their decision to work with the military government at that time, as opposed to Ehapa who wanted guerilla fighting. Too bad the 2 student movements killed each other first, then both were killed by the military government. Not sure which one is which, but look up Red Terror and White Terror in Ethiopia.

Emperor Haileselase I - is responsible for the great famine around wello, even if he do a lot for his country! Cor. Megestu - as you address he is responsible for red terror, but he contribute his own to Ethiopian Economy Mr. Meles Zenawi - he is responsible for Agnwak people murder, Oromo youth murder, Amhara people murder, soon... but he is still contribute to build the federalism, people learning in their language, people practice their culture freely, and so many other Dr. Abiy - he is responsible mass murder & arrest happen in current Ethiopia, but he still continue to build the democratic & Economically developed nations. and Politics continues with its up's and down's!!! what you need to stand shall be approving their good job and criticize their wrong doing! in this way we can respect each other and build the great Ethiopia with he multi-nationality people!

Haile and others in the student movement in or abroad did not have the capacity to observe the need of the society of Ethiopia/what is important to Ethiopians/. Being hungry of power Haile chose to side the Derg but cost his life. This is also true with other groups like EPRP. Emotional and no realization of the facts around them, the actions they have taken paves the way for disintegration of the community. As a result many of us became a victim and paid unnecessary sacrifice. Regarding academic achievement, Haile Fida is not as such different from the scholars of his time - Regarding academic grade points, Dr. Eshetu Chole was the leader in General Wingate High School records. Even Haile Fida's elementary school classmate at Bitwededed Demessewu School in Arjo/Wellega/ named Belay Kassa/killed?/ in India 1962 Eth. C. who earned 10As and a golden watch from His Majesty Haile Selasse was ahead of him. You people on the panel have led your life with no hassle and now during your retirement you are enjoying discussing as if you have contributed for the society. You have rather ask an apology for messing up and misleading young people like me and plenty others. Dear Amare Tegbaru, Have you read Merara Gudina's book?
