Soft goods look really weird for super tight suits, but when it comes to pants this baggy I'd much prefer them over whatever this is

Absolutely! I think the Mcfarlane Ichigo has gotten that bit right. The new Itachi Sh Figuarts seems to have a sloppy looking robe but I think with that the choice to go the cloth route is a lot more understandable. I guess I'll find out when it arrives.

Idk. This can be done with plastic. Just look at SHFiguarts Geto from Jujutsu Kaisen. Or SHFiguarts Tanjiro from Demon Slayer (not the same body setup, but engineering they could absolutely repurpose) The issue is that 1. they don't seem to communicate much between lines, so they all have different ways of tackling articulation, with some of them being notably worse, and 2. they seem reluctant to update a body plan once they have one made. Bleach figures, given the vast amount of repurpose possible (basically every Shinigami) should've been on a 10/10 reusable body. Instead they're on a 6 or 7/10 reusable body - serviceable, but leaving something to be desired. And then some one time releases that can never be repurposed have 10/10 articulation and sculpting.

God, i wish tamashii took this guy’s shoulder pad engineering and put it on their saiyan/ frieza armored figures. Just extend the pointy end and youd have great looking shoulder pad that can move in all sorts of directions without almost any gapping

I can tolerate the leg articulation so long as it functions, but the lack of a dull finish on the black parts is a deal breaker for me.

It's sad that Bleach figures have been getting bad reviews. SH Figuarts could have powered thru the ugly articulation if they gave us unique accessories. Yachiru as a pack-in would have been nice for Kenpachi (as well as ice wings for Hitsugaya, shikai for Renji, and cherry blossoms for Byakuya). I guess my dream of completing the Gotei 13 captains will still be a dream.

It's tricky because on one hand I want to show support for, and interest in more Bleach figures, but on the other hand none of these have been all that great. Also, every good guy basically wearing the same outfit does lead to them looking and feeling very similar, but the real shame is that these figures could easily be spiced up with some unique accessories. No cherry blossoms for Byakuya, no ice for Hitsugaya? What are we doing here? I'm sure it's because they'll all get rereleased/updated with their Bankai if the line lasts that long :T

Figures looking like plastic a really big issue for me. It reminds me so much of Fisher Price Toys and it just tanks my enjoyment. The black section's finish, combined with those knees, looks like those LEGO mountain panel pieces. Speaking of LEGO, there's LEGO mechs nowadays with way more flush knee joints lol

I personally don't care about the finish so long as it is consistent through the figure. My copy the paint match on the chest is better. While I agree that soft goods is the way to go, these legs look great compared to the Anime Heroes Bleach figures. His articulation isn't great, but it's good enough for this character. Still kinda tough to be a Bleach fan though.

Other than the screwy paint on the chest (which I dunno if it's on all figures), it's fine. Par for the course for this line. I wish they'd give us better engineering for the elbows and knees in particular (and pegged the forearms and lower legs into the sleeves on a ball joint to add even more range, but it is what it is at this point. Maybe if we ever get classic looks, they'll feel like updating the engineering.

I might get him, but definitely one I'd probably need to see an actual copy of with in-person or in-hand screenshots because that chest looks atrocious in this review. Definitely an ugly gloss finish but that can be remedied with a matte coat. Not excusing Tamashii though; we shouldn't have to do that at this price point. Great review.

Lost my faith in this line, they dropped the ball, i have the same sentiments with the pants, I bought ichigo - (just to have him along with naruto, luffy and goku as part of growing up,) got him out of the box and i saw the pants i was like wth is this? - put him back in it and just to be displayed in box. lol

The pants are terrible... They had a good design for baggy pants with DBZ 3.0 figures or even super buu. This looks and articulates like shite.

Ironically, the kimono bleach characters wear, especially Captains like him, would probably be made of silk. They're samurai, soul society seems to be perpetually in the Edo period, and the sharp white highlights in the comic art. I dont know if thats what they're going for. The struggle with Bleach figures, especially in the pants, is how big and voluminous and flowy everything is. A lot of the panels the hakama look nearly like dresses with feet holes. The center is connected to being a solid mass. In older 3D video games, they represent them as being basically tubular like this. Im curious about McFarlane's offerings being soft goods. I dont know what I'd want. These are probably "correct" in idea, but they don't give the right impression. The One Piece shf Yamato's pants might have been better, but Bleach you never see their legs where as Yamato does have more revealed bare legs in the show. Thats the same issue with soft goods plus the texture mismatch.

The Pants look bad and are bad. I hate them. It isn’t that hard to do it well. He has that bootleg Rage Awakening Paint Job and I am sick. He doesn’t have enough accessories. He is supposed to have another much larger sword. Accessories are like a 6. They’re fine. All the bleach characters heads are too small and too flat. FAR too close to the neck and unnecessarily limits articulation. Like I hate how they have ran one of my favorite lines into the ground. Even crazier how True Shikai Ichigo is around the same price yet comes with 2 effect parts and this guy doesn’t even get his second sword. Trash. Anthony is clearly just not mean enough. Didn’t romance dawn luffy get a higher grade for having almost the same articulation except a much easier to articulate design? All I know is the One Piece lines new figures need to be slaughtered for that single ugly Knee joint, the Dragon Ball line needs to ditch 2.0s and I need to stop crying about how mid the Bleach line is😭. Why is Naruto the only good one??

I've been buying them but at sale price. They aren't perfect but as a big Bleach guy I enjoy them for what they are and it's better than nothing.

​@@keroclow9059 There aren't many. For legit figures, all you have to choose from is SHF and Anime Heroes for 6 inch. There are the Play arts Kai's but they are like 8 inch and also suffer from the tree trunk legs and are old and very expensive now. They also break very easily, I had 2 of'em explode on me after shelf diving years ago. The only other option is the 3rd party stuff but they don't scale with SHF let alone with each other and they stopped making them anyway.. so yeah. Bleach just has a history of subpar figures. It is what it is and I'm a desperate man unfortunately. 🤦🏾‍♂ Edit: Oh yeah there is the Mcfarlane Bleach line but they are also in a bigger scale and despite having cloth goods, have terrible faces..
