Love your stuff Sir, but have two questions? What is the name for that type of lock your applying. Also what is the what if opponent releases his grip before you secure arm. I know there must be a kenpo answer.

1:40, you have already the opponent's elbow fully bent, why you reverse it back up and go for strikes to his chest letting him stand up normally, instead of keep rolling the elbow until he goes down (done in many japanese martial arts), it's shorter. You're a great man mr Tabatabai, but Mr Parker has passed down to you such a weakly composed set of techniques that i suspect were created in front of a mirror by mr Parker himself

@ Rizal Djohan, the reasons you don't end Kenpo Technique Sequences sooner is because, in Kenpo, you use the technique to introduce multiple basic moves and a multitude of concepts that aid the Kenpo practitioner as they progress in the system. At an advanced level a Kenpo practitioner will know how to end the confrontation not only at the junction you mentioned but at almost every movement in the technique. For example, a sharp slap directing air to damage the ear drum while bending the skull to pressure the neck to create a cervical spinal lock will cause the knees of the adversary to buckle as well as destroy any sense of balance, allowing the attacker to be dropped straight down or directed via projection and follow through as the fingers of the claw pressure the eyes or using the spiraling staircase concept (taught in the technique sleeper). In other words if you know your Kenpo well, then you know how to end a fight from any position in the long sequence. You can pull the guy down by the arm if you want or you may be fighting someone who counters you as you try the wrap so you reverse the motion and contour up the back (contour is a way to track a weapon to a desired target in a way that increases accuracy and control). Mr. Parker learned the base of these techniques and fifteen variations on each of them from the Thunderbolt, Professor William Chow the famous street fighting martial arts master from Hawaii. He then made some modifications to the version of the technique he wanted as the ideal technique to be taught at a particular level in the system. The techniques themselves were based on successful methods used by William Chow in his fights and modified from the insights Mr. Parker got from his own experience fighting in Hawaii but also from the feedback of his students who returned from the war in Nam and those who worked in Law Enforcement as well as input from members of the Chinese tongs in California not to mention comparing notes with all the martial arts legends from that era, people like Bruce Lee, Lau Bun, Ark Wong, James Lee, Gene Lebell so anyway Rizal Djohan, you don't really know the system that Mr. Parker evolved through his decades of teaching even if you studied it with someone who a few years who was an actual student of the founder, it is a system that takes time to blossom, you not only have to water it every day but you have to get nutrients (insights) from multiple direct proteges of the founder, only then will you realize and appreciate the true value of the treasure, until you do that, you will just be an ignorant outsider looking in from a very limited frame of reference unable to comprehend the reasons being anything that is done in this system.

Greetings Mr. Ibrahim. I never got a chance to meet you but have heard alot about you. I have had the honor of studying under some notable kenpo instructors. I started my journey with Graham Lelliot out of Clovis California after moving back to Washington I continued studying the art under Mr. Graves. I now study under Master Rainey. All three are awesome Kenpoists with their own approach to the art. Kenpo is such a fascinating lethal art. If you ever return to Washington I would really like to meet you and work out with you.
