In this episode of #kitabwala Saurabh Dwivedi discusses with Former Rajya Sabha MP, Ali Anvar on his book, "Sampoorn Dalit Andolan : Pasamanda Tasawwur" . The basic argument of this book is reservstion for Pasmanda community. Anvar elaborate the anecdotes of the past when the disussion held with the UPA government.
This book emphasises the complementary nature of the relationship between the Pasmanda movement and the Dalit movement. Anwar imagines the Pasmanda movement as a part of the Dalit-Bahujan movement and argues that the latter remains incomplete without including the “Pasmanda-tareen” (Arzal) in its fold. This is a new term which he has coined to denote Dalit Muslims. Further, he underlines that all religions have a section of population which can be termed as Dalits because the pains that they suffer from are identical.
Anvar in his book offers hope as concluding remark: “Today all constitutional institutions are visibly eclipsed. The Indian constitution and democracy are in danger. Hence, the unity of Dalits-Backwards, peasants, workers, students, youth and all justice and freedom-loving persons is required.”

Muslims those who are converted from Sudras, Dalit and Adivasis are known as Pasmanda Muslims. It is true that in spite of their historical identity as Sudras, Dalits and Adivasis they were away from Reservation. A few category of Muslims have come under OBC category for some years wherein they were not allowed reservation according to their historical identity. . Many govt reports carry the truth that present Pasmanda Muslims are are denied the advantages which have been extended to their counter part Sudras, Dalits and Adivasis. As a Muslim i never heard of these many castes ever. Not in the masjid, not from my parents. We pray behind every Muslim. We don't even know who's who. We don't have a concept of caste in Islam. I'm not denying that such a division don't exist in society, but this is highly a regional problem. One must not direct this towards Islam. Our scholars have always preached equality among Muslims, and not to discriminate on the basis of color, language or profession.

Many off people here have following views 1 Islam dosnt recognise caste differences 2 Reservation should be on economic backwardness not on caste 3 If muslim wants reservation then they should do Ghar wapsi etc But reality is different from misconception prevailing in such discource 1 Economic criteria based reservation should not be justified under modern liberal politics. 2 In India caste based reservation is given because so called lower castes have been subjugated for thousands of years. And they cannot expect that lower caste can compete on equal basis suddenly after Independence. 3 Pasmanda muslims or others are not recognised as SC, not because Islam treat every one equals, but because political and judicial system prevesouly beleive that since Islam came from outside hence followers of Islam were not subjugated under caste system. 4 However all Muslims donot come from outside. Majority of them are converted. Hence they have also faced caste based predujices. Since Converts from Hinduism to Budhhism still recognised as SC, this methodologies shpuld also be recognised for those Dalits who converted to Islam. 5 Any politicial party who realy show compassion of pasmanda or other dalit muslim should form a committee to study dalit converts to Islam and possibility to award them SC status.

इस्लाम मे जातिवाद.. या जातियां यह साफ़ दर्शाता है कि वर्षों पहले जो धर्म परिवर्तन हुआ उसके बाद भी उन लोगों ने पूरे तरह से इस्लाम को नही अपनाया | जो भी मुस्लिम किसी भी तरह का जाति प्रमाण पत्र सरकार से बनवा रहा है उनके खिलाफ फातवा निकलना चाहिए | जाति का सरकारी लाभ तभी किसी व्यक्ती को मिलता है जब वो जाति प्रमाण पत्र बनवाए , अगर कोई जाति प्रमाण पत्र ही न बनवाए तो इसका अर्थ हसी सरकार के आंकड़ों में वो समान्य जाति का हुआ | एक बार ठंडे दिमाग से बैठ कर डिसाइड कर लो कि जाति व्यवस्था अच्छी है या समाज के लिए कुरीति | अगर कुरीति मानते है तो इसे समूल नष्ट कर दे..सरकार किसी को किसी जाति का है कह प्रमाणित न करे, अर्थिक जनगणना कराए और जिनकी स्तिथि सही मे दयनीय पाई जाये उसे सरकार अपनी योजनाओं के माध्यम से जोड़ सबल बनाए ताकि वो अर्थिक रूप से कमजोर व्यक्ती या उसका परिवार समाज के लिए कुछ योगदान देने लायक बन जाए | वर्तमान परिदृश्य मे एक तरफ तो कहा जा रहा है कि जाति एक बहुत बड़ी कुरीति जय ठीक है...दूसरे तरफ जाति को चिन्हित कर उस व्यक्ती पर ठप्पा भी लगा रहे हैं कि व्यक्ती अमुक जाति का है... और तो और चूंकि वो इस जाति का है उसे इसी आधार पर लाभ भी दे रही है सरकारें... अब समझ नहीं आ रहा कि जिसे लाभ मिल रहा है सिर्फ इस आधार पर कि वह अमुक जाति से है। तो वो भाला जाति के कुचक्र से क्यूँ बाहर निकलना चाहेगा | वर्तमान 2023 की बात करे.. तो समान्य वर्ग के छात्रों को अपनी शिक्षा और रोजगार के तलाश तक नहीं पता होता उनकी जाति और कुल वगैरह का क्यूंकि उन्हें उससे कुछ लाभ नहीं..इसके उल्टा समाज कि वो जातियां जिन्हें लाभ मिलता है..वो बच्चे को छात्र जीवन से बता रहे हैं कि बेटा हम इस जाति के हो तुम्हारे पास जाति प्रमाण पत्र है तुम्हें स्कूल कि फीस माफ़ या हाफ देनी है..कम नंबर आ कर भी तुम्हें कॉलेज मे एडमीशन मिलेगा और अगर सरकारी नौकरी के लिए आवेदन करोगे तो आवेदन राशि शून्य है और नौकरी में आप कि अमुक जाति के लिए नौकरियां भी अप्रकाशित है और नौकरी लग गई तो समय समय पर आने वाले प्रमोशन मे भी वरीयता मिलेगी...भाईसाहब वो बच्चा तो मन ही मन सोचता होगा कि आरक्षण मिले हुए जाति पा कर मैं धन्य हुआ..उत्साह मे वो अपनी कार और बाइक पर अपनी जाति का नाम लिख पूरे शहर मे घूम रहा है..विडम्बना देखिए कि बाइक पर लिखे शब्द कोई बोल दे तो जाति सूचक शब्द बोलने पर केस हो जाए लेकिन बांदा खुद घूम घूम के बता रहा है कि मै इस जाति का हूँ | जाति वाद को ऐसे कैसे खत्म करेंगे .. जब उसे हर जगह इतना मह्त्वपूर्ण बना दे रहे हैं |
