Not gonna lie, I really needed to hear that last part, brother. I've been grinding A rank since the reset, and it's been really rough. I sincerely love this game and have really enjoyed meticulously improving my piloting, but it has been soul crushing lately. It has started to feel like I'm not in the club; not getting some fundamental part of the game that's holding me back. Nothing feels worse than playing melee and just impotently boost-canceling while a kite takes you down with ransetsus, harris, or nebula while not breaking a sweat. And it doesn't help that projectiles will hit you from yesterday thanks to Fromsoftware's net-code. My loss to win ratio is getting as bad as 4 : 1, and I've questioned whether I'm just not improving as fast as my opponents. I've looked to your positive attitude a lot lately for encouragement, but it's actually more encouraging to hear how frustrating it's been. Guess I'm not the only one who loses as much as I win, if not more lol. I'm going to keep going because this game is fucking awesome and I do enjoy the challenge and the rush from victory, but it's as you said: some players/builds make me really hate the game :/ But, in the absence of passion, vitriol is a suitable motivator. I WILL make it to S rank eventually, if for no other reason than to prove that I could against the meta!

I'm on attempt 7 this season for the same reason brother. These kites are KILLING the player base. Xbox's top 20 is littered with them, and I used to be top 10 with a CQC heavyweight. Shits AGGRAVATING. Best of luck bro, we'll take those kites out eventually.

You dude, you did good, considering you had 2x melee, and light while the enemies are just stat checking you with weapons you can't contest with melee - If you feel like you're struggling with those kite/rate/dodge builds, I have a recommendation for you - Use whatever frame you want with the hal core + santai > Get the iguazu arms + oscellus for accuracy buffs > Use double viento + double Zimms > add terminal armor. With your aggressive playstyle, you'll always hve energy + you'll outstagger most of your enemies at close range + if they do somehow jank you, with terminal armor and Zim+Viento you just might be able to stagger/kill them in 5 seconds for a crazy comeback :) Oh yeah, one last piece of advice, I recommending always trying to fire during your assault boost. The stagger you do while assault boosting feels like it almost doubles. Each time your fire a zim without assault boosting, you're throwing away a lot of extra stagger you could have done. So maybe keep that in mind, but otherwise, love the content bro, keep it up :)

Ay thanks bro. 2x melee is one of my fav builds, I just wish I’d see more S players running it too :/ This build you recommended is nasty 😂 would feel so good slapping some meta builds with this. Can already imagine assault boosting a kite, viento stagger into zimm punish! Rlly like the terminal armor pick as well, seems like a fun way to finish games lol Appreciate the assault boost tip, think I remember learning that a while back but I tend to forget, throwing away extra stagger is a great way to put it honestly. Nah, it's tougher due to assault boost catching up to any light no matter how fast, reducing their stagger AND increasing the stagger on the kite. Maybe it's easy with tetras, but not with bipeds.

The entire game is unskilled. Player expression is severely limited in 6, no aiming required, facemash stagger into nuke punish gameplay loop, no turn speed in combination wih an unbreakable hard lock makes outmaneuvering an opponent literally impossible, a decoupled camera means you can't even fucking strafe unless you're locked on because for some reason they decided this needed a souls-esque control scheme... I just can't keep coping anymore, this game's competetive integrity is a fucking joke

Ay if you end up rocking the laser blade again, the charged version is nasty against tetra the moment they go hover mode. Both hits land almost always. You had some crazy comeback wins in this video dude. Good stuff. Some days on ranked are rough for sure though.

The major problem is that the lamm nerf wasn't nearly enough. The weight those legs can load mean they can carry heavier weapons than any other leg type in their weight class, meaning they didn't need a slight nerf, they are busted and required many more adjustments. It's really sad that they can remain airborne while moving backward at higher speed while using heavier weapons than any other AC in it's speed class, and be far, far faster than other leg types in it's weight class. I appreciated the graphic design on them, but they need to be nerfed to the actual ground. Perhaps tetras should "pose fire" heavy weapons even when hovering, because what they are capable of makes everything else irrelevant.

As a person who has used the lamb legs very extensively.I think you might want to try using different options in different f c s s although I don't play online enough to know how that would affect your playstyle and if it would take it off meta or not. I struggle against some of the more defensive missiles in the game like the container missiles n' the javelin beta when using lammy legs

Yeah man graphically they’re dope af but it feels literally impossible to ever catch one of these in a match. Like no matter the amount of EN I have I won’t catch one. Only time I’ve ever shut lamms down consistently was with pre-nerfed etsujins (haven’t tried this patch) Would love to see them get nerfed to the ground, aside from everything else that annoys me in the game these are by far THE WORST to play against. Sucks bc when they first came out I remember running ducks and 16s on em and it felt pretty fun but everyone I’ve seen run them just kites to mars

That’s why I don’t even want to go to S rank anymore, I hit it the first season and after seeing all the heavy tanks and 400 speed kites I just stopped playing. This game really should have just a casual matchmaking system, would have been so much better.

The double Zimm shield meta is just annoying to me. Plus, the poor netcode coupled with people's varying connection qualities, as well as those abusing lag switching has made the whole grinding up to S rank thing unappealing to me. I first started playing ranked 2 days before the last reset, and I went from unranked to B -> A promos in two fairly casual evenings. Two of my 4 losses were to the 15th and 65th S rank players. One of the other losses was against a blatant cheater. I don't plan to get back to the grind until they release the big patch with new content, then I'll finally grind my way up to S.

Every time I see a kite, I ask myself "man, is this actually fun for you?" I play an aggressive CQC Water Strider - Etsujin, Explosive Thrower, the Split-12s like you, and then the ACT01 missile (the single slow balam one). I try to get up in there, I like to dance, and when we're both playing, dodging, trying to brawl, that's?? What the game's about! Playing with people. A "skill gap" would be someone whose movement is so good that if you don't try to trip them up, you won't hit them. But that one laser rat just... didn't want you to play the game at all. That's sad. Hopefully one day I get up in the ranks and can have a fun fight with you dude, you bring a ton of good energy into the meta.

Those split missiles work no matter the angle you are in relation to the target AND vice versa. They're very good for melee builds.

After patch I've been running dual ducketts with 2 laser drones. A butt load of kites and tanks trying to force me to run after them, I just send drones and bail out. So far not lost against any tank and about 90% of kites in can't do anything too.

Don't charge the blade after you extend a stun with zimmerman. There's no time. Either AA to fully restun and then charge the blade or just normal hit into AA and hopefully another stun to extend the combo.

I wonder if people would still backpedal stupidly if AP-lead victories only granted half the points... I've even had games where kites, who were already AP-leading, would stay away and mindlessly spam plasma missiles even if I stopped chasing and shooting. I just dodged and dodged without shooting until time ran out, and they didn't even try to get closer to destroy my AC :/ I really think that if destroying the opponent granted more points, long range players would take more risks and games would be better.
