Wiring the two port valve grey wires with permanent lives as you have shown here, is a better option than connecting the grey wires to the programmer as you suggested could be done. If the grey wires were connected to the programmer then all power running the heating system would be passing through the programmer, giving the contacts within the programmer a bigger load to deal with, where as having a permanent live to the grey wires, means the programmer now only has to deal with the power passing to the small motors within the valves.

You should have Defo had the call for the pump to kick in to go to the wiring centre. The vale doesn’t come with a long orange to run to the boiler

I think John Ward teaches this more effectively.

The orange S/L really should be from the wiring centre

Why not just get a control box where everything plugs into it clearly labeled job done & far simpler than looking at that diagramm

Just a question here please? Is the pump always run regardless? My pump seems like works 24/7 even when the HW and heating are both off. I’ll appreciate any advise here please?

Hi Chris, could you recommend any good publications to read in preparation for the AM2 exam and 2391 module (test and inspection) please? I have guidance note 3 and an up to date (ammendment 3) 17th edition of the regs but these are not ideal for learning. Thanks in advance.
