A bit of subtle brilliance in this flash: Though it initially seems ridiculous that this robot is on 'novice' mode, when you consider the incredible feats of strength and speed the bro-bot occasionally displays, it IS going quite easy on Jake. Notice that the bro-bot stands passively and waits for Jake to attack for the first minute or so of the fight, only moving to defend itself. When it does launch a flurry of attacks, the bro-bot mostly just knocks Jake around and drops him off atop the tower almost gently. Of course, as the fight goes on the bot gets more aggressive, but the robot still pauses and lets Jake get in a counter-attack occasionally instead of hitting him while he's down. Also note that the bro-bot never used the sword directly against Jake, not even the blunt side, and only rarely used its jet engines.

this flash is just full of nonchalant dudes with sharp iconography in dangerous situations. dirk takes his counter-assassination pretty well and just decides to admit he's been awake the whole time, the brobot just curbstomps jake over and over, and dd just walks up to hb's decapitated head on a pike, and just reads the note while everyone surrounding him is either panicking or a head on a pike.

In [S] Prince of Heart: Rise Up, Brobot is seen strifing with Jake - and I couldn’t get a screenshot of this, but he hits Jake in the head multiple times, once going so far as to lift him upside down by his torso and throw him at the ground head first. At another point, Jake ends up having rocks dropped on his head, effectively knocking him out and properly introducing him to Aranea. I’m sure he could’ve suffered more head injuries throughout the game now that they’re in it, too.

tbh i always thought it made sense, given the main motif from Beatdown was basically always heard when bro was kicking the shit out of Dave, unlike with the other guardian strife songs that seemed more evenly matched and started the main tune relatively quick. If anything, Dave's own motif from the early comic is probably Upward Movement and not Beatdown. eg in Descend, the song starts on Upward Movement mixed with Sburban Jungle because it's Dave struggling to enter the Medium, but the instant Beatdown kicks in, it zooms in to Bro slicing the meteor.
