I lived over eight years in QLD,very nice place ,good people ,good manners ,they dont ask your caste or which religion.But we have nurse's from central Travancore who work in old age homes which locals don't like to work the first question they ask you is which church denomination are you ? surprisingly I met a malayali priest whose english was very poor and he complained to me about his low wages ! I moved to Sydney from Kerala last Aug on 189 visa. My thoughts yet below. Positves Work life balance. Work kazhinjal pinne swatham jeevitham. Family . Swastham. Public transport system in Sydney Spending time with nature, beach Quality of air, water , life standards Relaxed work life. Better salary. Negatives Care of family that you get in Kerala would be missing here. Especially if single. Despite excellent public transport in Sydney, you need car to explore regional areas. Train network is weak. Heat stroke can be dangerous. 40c degree in Australia is way dangerous than that of India.. Regarding racism. I have seen only passive racism here. For eg, a white person would hesitate to sit near us in bus or train because of colour. Predominantly because for them Indians stink. I have seen worse racism in North India since Im mallu.
