Variety just dies as soon as late B rank. As you rank up the archetypes you encounter start to boil down to laser tanks, infinite AB chonky bots like OP's (laser/zim+melee flavours) and flying missile rats. Occasionally you will spot a double viento + melee + x on schneider legs boi or some weird RJS experiments but these are almost extinct in A.

Yeah, things deteriorated really fast. Glad I S ranked early so I didn't have to deal with this until S ranks.

I love how developers added stagger system yet the most effective assemble is “Don’t care about stagger shenanigans; just gonna drain your AP” build.

This is why I hate "Ranking" systems in PVP game modes. I used to run into all different kinds of fun builds online. I could play with different parts and have a great time. Everyone I knew was having fun in pvp. After this new Ranked PVP mode came out, its all the same cookie cutter builds dominating pvp even in non ranked modes. Its become so boring and lifeless now

That’s fair. I agree on the one hand, but on the other hand what you describe may just be a temporary super sweaty phase while the ranked mode is still new. Maybe it will calm down as time goes on. Also, I feel like if you make it to S rank, you will be a better player after for making the trip

⁠@@benjaminreid5339mm I’m not so sure about that tho. So long as “ranked” exist, you will most likely come across meta builds that are present in this mode. Surely, you will play against fun and unique builds sometimes (which is very much more fun than playing against missile rats lol), but in the end, ppl will want to win. So everyone will opt for builds that will ensure that especially in high rank. It’s just the nature of “ranked” mode. It sucks, but it is what it is.

Previous AC's were no different I played ranked religiously in ACFA it was also filled with the most "Meta" builds. Eventually the sweaty casuals dissipated and things were went individual build competitive.

As a player on pc its slightly easier (only slightly) to chase the kite by not hard locking at the beginning of the chase and fly straight to the direction of the kite, then side boost to correct the path when it tries to switch direction.

I've been sticking to mostly Schneider Core parts, testing builds, aggressive glass cannon along with Missle boat. Haven't found a good combo I like besides my Red October build.

It's hp% based. So it's not that bad.

After watching several videos, I have come to the conclusion that Fromsoft needs to implement weight classes. 50,000 to 60,000 = ultra-light/light weight. 60,000 to 70,000 = light/middle weight. 70,000 to 80,000 = middle/heavy. 80,000 to 90,000 = heavy. 90,000 and above = super heavy weight. Then have a "free-for-all" class (which is what we currently have). Or some permutation of this. It's the only way we're going to see any sort of build diversity, at this stage anyway.

At the very least, they should give über-light builds a little more stability, so they're not instantly staggered. As it is, the ONLY benefit is the gift of being nimble and having the ability to dodge nearly everything coming your way. But god save the queen if you're playing someone in another country, which is the case more often than not. Not salty or anything, I would just like to see even the lowly light builds be viable against these rolling bullet sponges. Personally, I don't enjoy being super heavy, i think it's quite boring just rushing straight ahead, guns blazing, until one of us runs out of AP. Don't get me wrong, not throwing shade, if it works it works. It's just not very compelling to watch. I don't think Fromsoft thought this through very well. I really do think the answer, or at least the easiest solution for now, would be weight divisions, and perhaps separate ranks for each class. Might give Fromsoft a better idea of what's the most popular play style. Or, it could totally fragment the community and destroy the multiplayer element entirely...

@@GloriousGEO it's a tricky piece of equipment to utilise need good control of timing and spacing especially against human's. Master it though it's a lot of fun I run it on a light build and use it like deployable cover to block charge shot laser builds mostly it works on just about anyone pigeon's (Rats) can be a hassle. People see it does stagger damage and think weapon but it's a DEFENCE weapon so it best used defensively. I use it like deployable cover, as a trap when I'm getting rushed by similar builds to yours they fly right into it and stagger themselves. Or when I want to rush someone I put them out in front of me to cover my approach. It even has utility as a stress inducer just putting them out to piss someone off while you harass them cause you forcing them to have to watch where they move and shoot through them to get to you combined with a zoomies build that constantly circling and moving Ive had more rage quits with that build then others I'm surprised I haven't end up on Reddit forum 🤣.

@@GloriousGEO each shield absorbs about 2500AP in damage before detonating, the amount of stagger seems to vary based on how damage it receives prior. I'll drop some of my test footage from when I was figuring out it's mechanics in the discord for you.

This game's pvp is such a missed opportunity, I rage quit for the first time yesterday after fighting keep away rats 5 matches in a row. I don't understand what the fun is in that, it requires 0 skill... They gotta buff assault boosting , give the ACs major mobility so that we can chase and kill those rats, or else there's no point in even playing this game. Maybe a limit to how many stupid missiles you can equip , idk something has to be done, or else the online will die very soon.
