A lot of people tend to forget that she tried so hard to stopp people from killing dragons and that played a big part on why she stayed with the dragons , and the last time she tried to stop someone from killing a dragon , it ended up burning up their house with hiccup in the house , she didn't want that to happen again so she stayed back

There’s a little depressing detail about the bewilderbeast having chains on its tusks. It’s borrowed from an old elephant ‘training’ technique. What people used to do was keep baby elephants chained to the ground. By the time the elephant was grown enough to pull free, they’d already associated being chained with being helpless and didn’t try to pull away anymore.

Oh also to add more to this, the movement that Drago did with his spear waving it around also resembles that of people using bull hooks on elephants for "training" them. They basically established to the elephants at a young age that the hook will hurt them, and by waving it around it scares them into submission, even when they've grown big. Edit: If you watch more closely, you could see that his "spear" has a hook that looks very much like a bull hook as well.

Just like the first movie, this one just does so many things right. Hiccup and Astrid's relationship is adorable, Valka is a great character and addition to the cast, Drago is a an unstoppable force of a villain, Eret's redemption feels earned, Stoick's death was extremely emotional and impactful, (it still makes me cry,) the climax is just plain perfect, and as always, the animation and musical score are fantastic. A pretty damn great movie and an amazing sequel.

Yeah, Stoic’s death hits so very hard. I introduced this movie to my 10 year old niece, and she was so devastated by not only his death, but hiccup’s lashing out at Toothless, we had to pause the movie for a while to calm her down. That part is hard to watch, even for me, but the part that really gets to me is his funeral. They did such a good job showing just how much everybody there loved and respected him and how heartbroken they were.

Did you know that Drago was like Hiccup when he was little, before the moment he lost his arm? It went down like this, from what I heard. Some parts of the village was on fire, while the villagers were behind younger Drago, and a Night Fury (Not Toothless, but had a bunch of scars on its body) in front of them, he did the thing that Hiccup did with Toothless (Hand on the snout thing), but the ending wasn't the same. When Drago's hand got closer, the Night Fury bit his arm off, then it was killed, leaving Drago with a missing limb.

Honestly, you aren’t missing *too* much with the tv show. The later seasons try to put stuff together, but there are plenty of episodes that are just the cast solving minor issues or the twins brewing chaos for their own enjoyment (and everyone else’s horror.) On the plus side, there is a scene where Snotlout gets Hiccup to punch him and it is absolutely glorious.

i genuinely just love race to the edge for the world building, the expansion of the world, and how much closer you feel to all the characters by the end. if i only watched the movies id probably hate snotlout, but because of race to the edge i love him, he’s got as much conflict as hiccup. i love dagur and heather and their bond and growth, and how they all help each other while still being a bunch of goofy kids just exploring their world

I'd have to disagree with you heavily there. ROB and RTTE had so much lore, worldbuilding, character focus and character and relationship development that honestly was missed in the movies. For instance Hiccup and Astrids relationship is way better built up and developed vs the rushed instantaneousness of it from the movies. Snoutlout had the biggest character development and throughout and more importantly we see Hiccup and Stoik FINALLY have a healthy father son relationship that they didnt have before which makes his death that much more impactful

If you enjoyed this, it has a TV series that takes place between the first and second movies (Riders of Berk, Defenders of Berk and Race to the Edge in that order). The animation starts of choppy, cuz tv series generally have a lower budget and they weren't sure how popular this was going to be, but it gets really good, and the writing gets sooooo much better too (do not watch Rescue Riders or The Nine Realms, these were cash grabs and have crap writing/plot and do not follow the movies).

Idc what anyone says, this trilogy will always be peak Era of Animated Shows. I remember wishing that this show was reality, Lol, the ramblings of a child I say.... I'm much older now and ngl I still wish it was a real life occurrence, props to the Actors and Actresses for voice acting these great Characters, I can't imagine anyone else voice acting them. Stoick's death was among the hardest, I'm gonna be honest with you, I cried and till this day it still hurts me whenever I witness it, Stoick was my most likeable Character after Hiccup and Toothless. I still think you should've watched the Series first before the 2nd part because Stoick is still alive in it.

I love how when describing why Valka and Hiccup didn't kill dragons despite having every chance to, both their reason is similar. Like Hiccupt said when looking at Toothless' eyes, he could see himself and Valka says when looking at cloudjumper's eyes, she says it reflected her own. Also, I love how Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) will never live down his "You know nothing, Jon Snow" meme. Astrid referenced that when she landed at where Drago is. "Don't you know anything?" I don't think you noticed but in the end when Hiccup got the black sheep, he puts it on Astrid's basket, not his own.

Each new render engine brought new ideas, better graphics, a whole slew of improvements... Random facts about the movie, and series part two (no major spoilers) part one of my facts on your first reaction. I have watched all the series [minus nine realms bc its cursed], and I've read the og books. 1.) The invention Gobber used at 2:21 was pretty much made by Snotlout. 2.) Hiccup's wing-ed suit he uses to fly was made in one of the episodes from HTTYD Race to the edge [Tv' show from/on NETFLIX] 3.) The dragon at 3:24 in your video is the Timber-jack, for this dragon in specific has been mentioned in the book of dragons [HTTYD 1], and also got a short in Rise of Berk! 4.) Hiccup made his suit and coated it in crushed dragon scales mixed with paint to make it fire resistant/proof. 5.) The burn mark on Eret's chest [7:05] is a scorch mark from hot metal being pressed against skin, its shown as branding traitors, and enemies in the TV show. 6.) Eret's line "Its not just anyone who can capture a night fury" [7:11] is because toothless is supposed to be the only fury [mentioned frequently/often]. 7.) In the scene where toothless is separated from Hiccup [12:20] the dragons surrounding him and taking him under were Thunderdrums- and the two headed ones were discovered earlier [ in the Tv show >:) watch to find out their name] 8.) Hiccups fire sword uses monstrous-nightmare gel and a mechanism to spark the blade. 9.) Hiccups flame sword "Inferno" as he named it is also uses hiddieus-zippleback gas and a similar mechanism to spark its gas and create an explosion/fire. My garbage WIFI is preventing me from watching the rest of this and so Idk what you point out, mention or know already so imma come back later when I have a free moment. I'm super excited for your reaction to the third movie. Honestly the first to are the best, and the Tv show just adds lore. Skullcrusher is a Tracker-Class dragon, along with Stormfly, Astrid's Deadly Nadder, who if I'm correct was moved into Tracker Class from Sharp Class soon after the discovery of the Rumblehorn species (Skullcrusher). Tracker-Class dragons have incredible senses of smell.

I'm so mad that they went the delife the father route in that way because we all know darn well that even if it was a geat of the moment situation Stoick could've/would've pushed Toothless out of the way to save Hiccup. They could've had the actual Bewilderbeast delife him if they wanted to delife him in this movie.Hiccup is 6'1 in this movie and 5'4 in the first movie.Stoick is 6'7". Also I think you'll like the HTTYD series Race To The Edge the stuff that happens in it occurs in between this movie and the first movie. Also I think it's cap that none of the dragon trappers were delifed or at least attack by the wild dragons that were rescued by them that whole time.

as soon as I saw Valka's Bewilderbeast die I knew Stoick wasn't gonna make it to the end of the movie, the fight of the kings was directly copying the fight of Drago & Stoick also you asked how they can keep producing these kinds of movies, 1 Word...Dreamworks
