So how do you pick up a mooring line as a solo sailor in an extremely crowded mooring field?

Very carefully! I usually try to head into the wind, approaching slowly and letting the wind stop the boat so I can pick up the mooring pendant. Sometimes it takes multiple tries and I provide the afternoon's entertainment for the rest of the boats in the mooring field....Thanks for watching!
