@4:15 "We recommend checking sealant level after 10 hours of riding and refill if necessary to maintain optimal performance and puncture protection." How do I check the sealant level? Do I have to take the tire off the rim? Do I need to check my tires every 10 hours of riding or just the first 10 hours. After how many hours of riding do I need to add sealant going forward?

Love the feel of these tires, and they are not bad at all to mount on my Enve 4.5AR wheels. However, they are just about impossible to unmount. I'm switching back to Hutchinsons because if I ever have to put a tube in on the road when using these tires, it would be faster to walk home.

You’re not kidding. I’m on my second time trying to remove a tire and seriously it doesn’t budge. First time took multiple bike shops and here I am trying to remove a tire for a second time, my thumbs will never be the same

@@dh6167 I ended up cutting mine off. I "believe" that the issue is ---- the tires have an extremely supple sidewall (which I'm guessing is the reason they have that "magic carpet" ride). However, with that sidewall, trying to push the tire bead back over the retention bump just causes it to "roll" instead of slide sideways laterally (which a stiffer sidewall tire would probably do). I found that even with a couple of tire levers between the bead and the outer wall of the wheel, as soon as even a slight amount of pressure is released (like: to move a tire lever slightly), the bead simply "rolls" right back to the wall of the rim. I gave up and cut 'em off. It is an expen$ive lesson.

@@agie170hss2 Thanks I began to cut mine off as well but afraid to continue to to so without damaging the tape (tire was shot and showing the cotton fibers anyways). My issue is on the Enve Foundation they only recommend you ride certain tires which are a limited selection and almost only available online vs from your local shop in a pinch

is it possible ti ride the tire with tube (schwalbe aerothan)?
@PNW41302 жыл бұрын
Yes, but tubeless tires typically have tighter fitting beads so take extra care to not pinch the tube between the lip of the rim and tire when manipulating the bead into the rim bed.

These tires are a pain in the ass to seal.

I find them OBSCENELY hard to get on the rim. I thought Gatorskins were difficult. Those are easy compared to these. I can't say anything about the ride quality yet because I'm still trying to get the rear tire on. I literally bought one of those tire seating tools in the hope I can finally test this out. Good grief.
