I'm sorry for your loss Cheryl and Ben. So so hard to lose one of our fur babies.......Kingston looked like a great dog and you gave him a wonderful life. So sorry for your loss. It was always fun to see Kingston's antics. Thanks again for this updated review. This looks like a nice park, but I'd be concerned about mosquitos later in the season when it's hot and humid so you guys probably went at the best time. Wheatley is on our list for next year 😊 Our first trip is in a couple of weeks to Lake St. Peter PP. Your videos have been great in helping us plan our season.
@CampingwiththeColes7 ай бұрын
Thanks. We were concerned about the mosquitoes since the marsh is right behind our site. There wasn't a mosquito to be seen the entire time. So, it was definitely a good time to be there. I imagine it would get pretty mosquito infested. On the plus side there are a lot of birds that have mosquitoes as their main source of food. Enjoy Lake St. Peter. You're little trailer will fit right in there.

All the Erie parks seem to never really live up to the imagination of the magical Ontario Provincial Park standard I think we all have in our heads (beavers, tall white pines, patchwork of lakes). It really does seem like a different zone 'down there.' I appreciate you guys giving it a second try and trying to see the park for what it is and not just searching for another Pinery/Algonquin which I think we all do. I've never been to Wheatley, but it does seem they need to compensate for the lost day use area with some kind of new, built, attraction. Thanks!
@CampingwiththeColes7 ай бұрын
We've found that all parks have there own charm. We don't want to do the same thing all the time so that's why we like exploring new parks. Some are all about the beach. Some are about the hiking. Some are about stunning views. Some are about paddling. We've found there are parks we like more than others but all in all we've never found a really bad provincial park.

So sorry for your loss, it looks like he had an amazing life. ❤️ The end of the video had me crying, our dear 13 yr old old toy poodle passed away suddenly when we were in Florida. The ER vet was amazing and she was cremated and spread in the Tampa Bay. She loved the RV and would sit in the driver’s seat while we’re were packing it. Like you we have another dog who is three years old and luckily she loves camping and running on the beaches too. On a happier note, 😂😂 Cheryl’s story of her porta potty incident was hilarious. I can relate to getting lost in campgrounds. Watching, Jax looks like he's loving the beach. Sorry about Kingston, it will take awhile. I have a couple questions two for you. How do you set up clean up area for Jax especially after a beach visit? Also we noticed you have two water jugs set up on end of picnic tables. We done but curious about your set up😅. We tried setting up picnic table like you do perpindicular to trailer under awning this weekend. Thank you for your reviews and tips!! ❤ Happy mother's Day Cheryl🎉
@CampingwiththeColes7 ай бұрын
We give Jax a final rinse in the lake with leash on and don't let him roll in the sand. At the campsite we keep him outside until he's mostly dry. The sand kind of falls off. It's not a perfect system. We still get a lot of sand in the trailer, on the couch, in the bed LOL. The two water jugs is Cheryl's doing. She has one filled with water from home that we use for filling water bottles at the campsite and incase there is a problem with the water from the campground. The second jug is filled with water from the campground that we use for rinsing dishes, washing our hands etc when outside. We keep a bucket under that jug and use the dirty water for putting out the fire at night. We like having the picnic table perpendicular to the trailer so that we can still sit outside and play games even if it's raining.

Hi Cheryl and Ben , My husband and I enjoy your videos so much. Like you we also have camped all across Ontario and the East Coast. Your videos are very informative! We have a trip planned for 2 months this summer across the USA to Yellowstone and all the national Parkd. Wishing you had suggestions for those. One question in your Sauble Beach campground video you are bbqing on your red bbq with some sort of bbqing mat that your chicken is on. Is that to have an easier cleanup? Same bbq taste? Just wondering as in Yellowstone and Tetons bears are a real threat and you have to clean and put your bbq away ever night. Cleanup of the grill is so hard so wondering if this might help. Happy camping this year!! Jim and Jennifer Macleod

Your USA trip is a dream trip for us. Maybe someday. We use Cookina Reusable Grilling Mats amzn.to/3wwfq8r. They area awesome. The changed me from a horrible griller to a great one. Whatever the meat you cook on it, it keeps the juices in but still puts on the grill marks. I used to dry out chicken on BBQ but now it's juicy. The sheets also keep the BBQ clean. You have to clean the sheets after each use though. I've been using them for about 8 years now and always use them. It's a bonus that it keeps the BBQ clean.

Not a mosquito to be seen. I think it must be too early in the season for them because it would seem to be a great breeding ground for them.

That is fortunate. I made the mistake years ago of booking too early in Champlain Provincial Park, swarms of black flies due to the grounds not completely being dried up. LOL never again.
@CampingwiththeColes7 ай бұрын
@@wolfgangspits_fire9783 we usually try to stay as south as possible for the beginning of the season to avoid black flies, deer flies and horse flies. Sorry about your fur baby, its hard to lose a pet. Ideas for videos, find some good RV resorts in Ontario - most are just seasonal trailer parks (most dont even allow "transient" campers). Not a very welcoming environment for RVers and not all RVers want to be camped out in the bush at the provincial parks all the time. Each place has its own vibe, the PP's seem to all be the same.

What would a park have to do to get a sub 5 score? I want you to visit a truly crappy camping park. Also, my condolences.
@CampingwiththeColes3 ай бұрын
It would be pretty tough to get below a 5. You know what they say "a bad day camping beats a good day at work." There is some redeeming quality at every park if you look hard enough. One person's 4 is another person's 10. Stay tuned, we give a 5 rating for a park we were at last week. It'll be a few weeks before the video comes out.
