S1 E5B Follow-up Pressing Wavy Interior Pages Using Humidity for 12 hours by KaptainMyke. This episode features a follow-up video to S1E5 with the end results after two days with humidity and a proper press. The book is in high grade condition with one small problem: pages are rippled or flared. A completely dry book with rippled pages. Flaring is caused by too much pressure or too much moisture (sometimes both). You never know what you are dealing with so it's best to start slow. I did not want to introduce more humidity to the book so I thought I'd start with a simple light press using steel plates to see what would result. The interior pages were still wavy somewhat and needed humidity re-introduced to the paper fibers. Books in the 1990s started to change the way how they were manufactured and produced by using cheaper paper from publishers. All supplies can be found in the provided links below:
