S1 E7: Epic Colorado! Part 2 - Engineer Pass to Medano Pass

Part 2 of our Epic Colorado! series. Join us as we continue our overloading adventure from the backside of Imogene Pass down to Ouray. We then drive down the Million Dollar Highway to the Mineral Creek trail and the beginning of the Alpine Loop as it heads up and over Engineer Pass. We camp just outside of Lake City then head out the Los Piños Pass trail the next day, over Los Pinos Pass and out to Hwy 114. The following day we visit Great San Dunes National Park and decide on the spur of the moment to drive over the Medano Pass trail crossing the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. See how well an impulsive decision works out.
At the end of this part of the trip we head over to Durant, OK to visit Exploration Outfitters and have a 24 gallon Long Range America extended gas tank installed on the 4Runner. We also get to see a Patriot Campers X3 trailer in person for the first time after purchasing one in December 8 months previously.
Look for our next episode in the series when we return to Colorado, from the north this time, and travel the Colorado Back Country Discovery Route (BDR) from Wyoming to Four Corners.

Great series so far. As a 60+ explorer, I like to see you guys out there doing it. I live near Asheville, NC and busy myself with all there is to do in the Appalachians, but my plan is to head west next Spring.
