S1 - Ep 115-The Gravel Road from McGregor to the Circle of Dreams

What a surprise we got when we took this amazing gravel road from McGregor to Stormsvlei and then on to the Circle of Dreams. The nature was awesome and not to mention the fantastic Have a Heart Equine Sanctuary. The horses were fascinated by us and they all came towards the fence. We are so happy to see places like this. Unfortunately we couldn't get to see much at Stormsvlei and at the Circle of Dreams venue but we had a great time travelling on these back roads. We did too, they were absolutely gorgeous and there were so many! We later found out it's actually a sanctuary called Have a Heart Equine Sanctuary, which made it all the more special. 😍

We're always pleasantly surprised by what we find on what seems to be even the most boring road. We later learnt those horses were rescued animals. So glad you enjoyed them too! 👍🏻

Those light coloured horses are so beautiful. Quite a few different horses amazing. Those bulls are so huge wow, looked as if they were either loading up or off maybe an auction somewhere. Baboons can be dangerous imagine them getting into those buternuts. Looks like lots of flood damage sometime back. Thank you.

The horses were really beautiful to see, we spent quite a bit of time with them. There is a lot of flood damage in this area and it will take some time to repair, especially if they want to ensure it doesn't happen again. There was definitely some cattle auction going on and the trucks were ready to transport them. 🐂

White horses are actually Greys. I love the gravel roads when I drive in SA I always go off the beaten track , there is so much more to see.

I've had major experience with opening and closing gates recently, so have become quite proficient! 😁 What a beautiful bull that was, I thought I was in Texas for a moment there! 🐂

A dry river but did you see how green the trees were😳

We were always puzzled and surprised by this too. We only learnt recently that it can still be green during dry spells and it's often referred to as a 'green drought'. The root systems and such get moisture from the underground water supplies which keep them going. Nature is really incredible and continues to surprise us wherever we go! 🌳💚

We saw reindeer at the church from afar and would've loved to see those antlers up close. 🦌 Almost half of the road has been washed away in some places on the road to Stormsvlei, so they have some big projects to complete there.
