The stars at night must be magical. And the quiet... double plus Lekker!

The stars were spectacular! 🤩 I often think back to this particular farm and our cottage on the hill overlooking the surrounding landscape. Magical.

Rosedale farm outside Britstown how awesome and that house you stayed in was built on just the right spot. The flamingos were just as awesome. Farm life is always the bes, so quite and beauriful. Enjoy

We love staying on farms whenever it's possible and this one was wonderful. We absolutely understand why the owners built the house on top of that specific hill, one can literally see forever from up there. The sunset was amazing from there too! 🌄

How amazing were those flock of flamingos flying across the sunset, so beautiful. Agree with you that it's great to be far from the maddening crowds. Just nature and solitude. Great vid.

Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it. It was our first time in this area and the beauty of the stark Karoo landscape is just gorgeous! We were actually surprised to see so many flamingos, have never seen them in the Karoo before this trip. 🦩 The sunset was truly spectacular with almost every colour of the rainbow represented at some point. 🌄 I could eat sausage every night if accompanied by such a sunset.

Indeed! 👌🏻 Our farmstay outside of town was the absolute epitome of wide open spaces, we could literally sit there for hours and just stare out over the vast landscape. Thank you for watching! 😍

The Country Lodge has an interesting foyer with all sorts of interesting things for sale. I nice place indeed.

We believe so, we met the owner while she was walking through town and she invited us to come and have a look. 😊 My wife has a major knee issue and I was just not comfortable leaving her in the car alone that day. It's fantastic that there is a place like that in town though. 👌🏻

Ja, when there is still dutch signage up, like "kerkzaal", then you know it is quite old.
@DustBugsTravel2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! And it's surprising how often we find that in these smaller towns. ⛪

Normally one of my stay overs in the Lodge while on road trips. Town really in a bad shape during my last visit in 2018. The cemetery was a disgrace and the museum items stack in a store room. The only business doing well in town is the local shebiens and liquor off sales

Can anyone from Britstown tell us can we get through from Cape Town to Kimberley is the pad brug at Kambro open
@DustBugsTravel11 ай бұрын
I called the Britstown Police Station and spoke to a Constable who confirmed that the road past the Kambro Farmstall is currently open and that traffic is flowing freely in the area. Rain has been forecast though, so she suggests that you call them on a regular basis to determine if the situation has changed. You can easily find their number on Google. Travel safe. 🚙

Sad that our smaller towns are struggling. There are so many beautiful old buildings and history. Its the economy that is in its m%$#...but let me not go there! Rosedale looks awesome!
@DustBugsTravel2 жыл бұрын
Yup, most of the smaller towns are indeed struggling to stay afloat. 😢 Our stay at Rosedale was fantastic, we could literally see forever. 😎
