I am currently living in Gauteng, but I am coming from Vosburg and it was so good to see somebody exploring my "geboortegrond". I was born in Victoria West. My dad was a Merino sheep farmer in the district. I did my primary school years in the school that you showed in the previous episode. Sad to see that it is now ruines. I was in the hostel during the week and and went to the farm for the week-ends. I was attending school in Vosburg until 1970 and then I went to Paarl Boy's High. My brother was a sheep farmer on the road to Prieska and he has still got his house in Vosburg which he visits every now and then when Bloemfontein gets too much for him. It was good to hear what is happening in Vosburg. It is a pity you could not get inside the church as it has a unique design. The benches are arranged in a circle around the pulpit. The "diakens" and "ouderlinge" goes into their little stalls and close the little door. The one lot to the left and the others to the right. It was not designed for that purpose. That was actually the choir stalls in years gone by. My parents are buried there in the cemetery as you go towards Prieska. Thank you for sharing the Vosburg experience. Greetings.

Thank you so much for sharing your special memories of this beautiful town that you got to spend so many happy times in. 😍 We hope you've been able to have a look at our Victoria West video too. You certainly had the best of both worlds, to be in Vosburg during the week and on the farm over weekends, that sounds like a perfect life to us! 😍 We completely understand the big city getting too much for someone and them running away to the Karoo every so often, that's exactly what we do as well! You provided such wonderful info about and insight into the interior of the church, we can certainly imagine it much better now in our mind's eye. Thank you! 👌🏻

Just awesome loving your video each time especially Saturday early with our coffee time. Great new music. Amazing discovery of the Fun Pan. A friend of mine worked at the Hakskeen Pan with the Bloodhound SSR . would like to see you visit that pan

We've never heard about the Hakskeen Pan before, but have just added it to our list for a future trip to the Northern Cape, it sounds fantastic! 🤩 We're happy to hear that you enjoy our videos, everything is normally better with a nice hot cup of coffee. ☕ Glad to hear you like the new music, thought it was time for new vibes.

Thank you very nice an undergroung lake amazing well done
@DustBugsTravel2 жыл бұрын
One doesn't associate water with the Karoo, so it's actually amazing to know that there are still water sources we know nothing about. 💦We had a fantastic time in this town and were sad to leave.

Wonderful to watch. I wonder what a house would cost there?
@DustBugsTravel2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, it means a lot that you enjoyed watching our video! I have no idea about house prices there, but you can certainly check on the Property24 and Private Property websites and see if any properties are listed there currently. 🏘️

I thoroughly enjoyed part 2. Do you know if the bakery was able to find a new premises? I cannot tell you how I am enjoying your videos, the wealth of information and lovely commentary is wonderful. Thank you both of you.

So glad you enjoyed Part 2 as well, we just had a fantastic time in Vosburg and surrounds! The lady who baked bread for the town was unfortunately unable to find new premises.😥 The town does have several new projects going and planned, like having water flow in the irrigation canals in town again and they're launching a Vosburg Better project soon as well. It's an altogether magical place that one! 🤩🚗

My Dorpie word gesien:)

Hi. Ek dink daai pan droog so gou op omdat daai water in die grond in sal na hulle ondergrondse meer toe waarvan hulle hul water uitpomp. I think the reason why the pan dries out so quickly is that the water sacks into the ground into the underground lake ,then they pump it out for the towns use.

A glass hearse. Wow
@DustBugsTravel2 жыл бұрын
The condition of the hearse is fantastic! It must've been quite a sight to see it travelling down a gravel road, drawn by horses. A fitting farewell to anyone in our books. ✝️

My pa is daar begrawe. Die begrafplaas is baie groot en netjies. Het julle geweet dat dit neem hulle 'n week om n graf te grawe? Dit word basies uit klip gekap. Ek was net 2 keer daar en die stilte is ongelooflik.

We had no idea that it takes that long to dig a grave in the Vosburg cemetery! 🏛️ I'm sure this place holds a special place in your heart. We will always think back to our time in Vosburg with fond memories of a pretty Karoo town with so much hospitality and warmth in its people that it was actually hard to leave again. Thank you for watching our video! 😁🚙

My road map shows a Otterpan....?
@DustBugsTravel Жыл бұрын
I see it too! The Otterpan seems to be on the road between Vosburg and Prieska. We didn't get as far as Prieska that time around, so didn't travel on that specific road. I hope to one day and check out the Otterpan! 🚗😁
