I too am a wheelchair pusher! Good on you both for not letting disability cramp your life. Hard work for both, but well done . Kiwi Jim

I am so pleased you have decided to use a wheelchair. You will have so much fun! Don't think of it as a burden. I have used a wheelchair for 10 years, and nothing stops me!! We flew from Vienna via London to Los Angeles. My husband is 82 and handles the wheelchair with little effort. You should always travel with a gel cushion, a folding step box in a bag, and a few bungy cords!! The step box unfolds, making it easier to get up a step. The bungy cords secure the wheel chair! We did the Santa Barbara trolley trip to see the Christmas lights. Take a small backpack with your jackets - you hang it on the handlebars of the chair. Have fun Sonia!!

Sonia and Curtis I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. The Wine Tram is very close to my heart because my cousin David Blyth is the founder and owner of the Wine Tram which makes me very proud of his achievements. I have been on the Wine Tram in 2019 and it was out of this world. Our whole family had a family reunion for my cousin Joe, David’s older brother who was terminally ill with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Joe and David’s sister Kathleen and her husband came out from England. Joe passed away two weeks later. Looking forward to the next episodes

Hi you two! Thank you for this surprising and interesting trip! The winelands are indeed one of the most fabulous experiences in our beloved country. Each of the estates with its own unique surprises. From donkeys to beautiful oak trees. Those tram/bus trips seem to be well organized and managed, with all the staff so friendly too. Also no lack of shops and eateries. Your carrot cake at Noble Hill and the snacks at Lekker Room (cream?) had my mouth watering. All this with the wonderful mountains around! I enjoyed every one of your Western Cape trips, but I am very happy to hear that we will be back on the gravel roads again! Until then, take it easy, and Keep safe!

I actually still don't know what was in that cruffin, but it was delicious! 😁🧁 It was definitely a nutty, creamy filling of some kind and plenty of it! Thank you for visiting our 'local' attractions with us. We can't wait to hit those gravel roads either, it's been way too long! 🚙🤩

Boschendal was first granted to the French Huguenot Jean le Long in 1685 by Simon van der Stel, the first governor of the Cape Colony. It was subsequently bought by Abraham de Villiers in 1715 and remained in that family for 164 years. I am a descendant of Abraham. Thoroughly enjoyed your tour. Big thanks.

That trolley bus was manufactured in Chatsworth, California by a company called TIG/m There is an identical one, albeit Red in colour that traverses Emaar Boulevard in Dubai. Both were commissioned at around the same time for a cost of approximately $ 1.2 million excluding infra.

Beautiful area. But you haven't done the shark diving yet! :D (Actually on a more serious note, at the height of whale season at Hermanus, you're just about guaranteed to see them. Once you've seen one breaching you get quite good at seeing them. And they make quite a noise, so you can often hear them from the beach. Might be a bit too expensive to go out on the whale spotting boats, but might be worth going to the harbour to see what they charge. That's assuming that whale watching expeditions don't just turn into fish feeding expeditions for you.)
@DustBugsTravel9 ай бұрын
We've seen many whales before, including one breaching from our very own apartment window in Strand. We love whales, but we're totally happy spotting them from land. 🐳😍 It's not whale season now, but we also saw some in Hermanus when we visited in September (Episode 384).

Vivian at Noble Hill was very kind to us and she really went out of her way to accommodate us on the lawn. 🍷 I am so very fortunate to say that I was able to spend many evenings with my parents-in-law while they were enjoying those glasses of wine. Theirs was a very special relationship. 😍 I've been working hard lately and haven't worn the DustBugs shirts and cap for a while, but I'll make up for it on our upcoming trip, it'll be a good test for quality control! 😁👕

Private train at Drakenstein, Private train to Elgin, Private train from Roberson, private train through Wolseley, private train from Hartenbos. Seems like the private tourist sector have more rural passenger trains than the government Transnet. The advertised smells and tastes from wines is a bit exaggerated. The third bottle is always the best. From the subtle change in the sounds of your voices, I can detect that you did your wine tasting perfectly. And that is from a person that been drinking wine for over 40 years. If you switch the photo layer on, on Google Earth, you will see each train station (or halt) has got a photo.
