Great fish fight. One tip when off shore kayak fishing leave your drag a little lighter and just cup the spool on spinning reels. That way if the fish takes off on you it doesn't pull you over and you can allow the drag to keep the fight going. You may spend 30 minutes getting a fish in but you can keep it going. Those ray were awesome.

Next time you are out there, troll a big rattletrap or broke back for Kings and Cobia usually follow or swim underneath manta rays, toss a bucktail jig with a grubtail and hold on. As always great video and tight lines.

Light gear and freeport or any jettie is not smart.Never know when that king or tarpon will hit and you'll kick yourself for not having the correct gear.I run a 6000 penn battle and it'll catch the smacks but also the jacks or tarpons
