I was going to ask you, how did it go on your way back in thru the breaks in Padre Island? besides flipping and loosing a rod? any sea sickness in the open water?

I've never had any type of motion sickness. I'm one of the lucky ones I guess.

I'm only guessing....and not sure what size you are using but​ wouldn't a smaller size whopper plooper with the single hooks provide a better hook up ratio advantage? I've never caught a fish on the two sizes of plooper that I own.

I don't like using the small one as it doesn't float like the big one. It swims subsurface and it kinda defeats the purpose of a topwater.

Good luck parking there. People's vehicles get broken into there all the time. Main reason i dont fish there. And im only 3 or 4 miles from it.

Come up to Dallas I have a place that bad ass for top water me and 2 other buddy's cought over 60 bass all 19"-21inches was the biggest on whopper plopper

Check out videos by "Larry Dahlberg" here on YT. He's been making awesome lures (like the Whopper Plopper) for many a year, and when you try his Clackin' Crayfish or Diver Frog.... you'll thank me. It's just fricking amazing and I've even had catfish and a dang birds get fooled by it's crazy lifelike action. He's also got some great videos on making lures and how he selects components - yep nothing but the best for his creations!

Put a couple on your list for Santa..... or maybe a birthday. I'm not associated with them other than as a "believer". Larry designed them, over-engineered them, picked quality components selected, and tested how well they work - and brother do they ever work! I'm in the far north presently, and I watch Pike and Muskie come a Loooooong way to smack the heck out of them. My only problem was cut-offs, and thankfully I found a great ultra thin leader material that even those toothy turds can't chew in half! Look around for the best prices - I've found them for under $12. Best of Luck

Berkley has the choppo for $9 and work great, third cast and had a strike on the MF Frog.
