Girl! What a ‘get’! I have loved this man and his family since first seeing him on Homestead Rescue! Woke up this morning, saw the notification, and immediately pressed play!

What a great interview, Marty Raney is the most humble, hardworking man and his kids are he same. His wisdom is worth weight in gold as he has been there and is still homesteading in a very difficult place-Alaska

I just finished listening to the podcast version of this and absolutely loved it. So good! Sounds like he’s as real and kind as I thought he was.

Thank you enjoy both of you and your respective opinions, most people get in a hurry it took us a year of looking to find our homestead it takes patience and due diligence .

I have enjoyed Homestead Rescue and am looking forward to more episodes. Hearing Marty talk about lack of water makes me appreciate living in the Midwest. I loved the comment about the firewood. We made that comment this year. We now have enough. In our area, acreages are a hot commodity. They sell fast.

Having Marty as a guest was quite a score! I love Homestead Rescue because he's humble. But also for the crazy antics he pulls. Also, being a grandfather myself, I like the dad jokes! I moved to northeast Colorado for family in 2018. If it weren't for that reason, I couldn't move to such a cold climate. It just isn't me. I'm not a fan of snow.

He right, if you give up on your dreams you never had those dreams. I had a few bumps in the road while saving up for my land, but I didn't quit. It took some time, but I bought raw piece of land, now I just have to put some work in the land.

I'm so glad Marty mentioned the problem of too much water. That is the problem w have on our farm. It causes so many health problems with our livestock. I wish we would have paid more attention to that when we purchased our property.

I'm a ranch kid from NE and I LOVE the Custer area. We have been saving up to move there for over 5 years but the real estate prices have skyrocketed there since the C word hit. There is an area west and southwest of Custer that is more affordable, but there is no water. And that's a number 1 priority for us.

I think Marty Raney may have lived in Burnsville, Minnesota in the early 1960s. I had a classmate with that name and he moved in about 4th grade🤣

Cool video! Is there anyone growing Switch grass for E85 Flex Fuel? Its $2.99 per gallon in Southern California right now and over 100 octane.

I wonder why after he says " go west young man" he then says " and woman", but woman was muted and not even in the text. Why is that??
