In today’s episode, Eli and Oscar have an incredible conversation with Barbara Midega, an enterprising young lady who made the decision to move from London to Kenya with a magnificent business idea, revolutionising the beauty business in Kenya.
We learn about the challenges of setting up a business from the diaspora, being a young female entrepreneur and the mentality needed to build a business in Kenya.
For entrepreneurs in diaspora looking to hear a story about returning home, or anyone looking to be inspired… this one is for you!

The episode got too hot (GREAT) making Eli go to cool down 😂😂. I enjoyed it half as much... As Oscar and Eli enjoyed making it.

She's very right. When it comes to Nigeria especially, Kenya's fashion and beauty industry is like several decades behind ! !! And this mainly has to do with this whole laid back vibe about Kenyans. Like we don't care that much. We're like literally ok looking bland and "natural" 😂 But this also mean we don't get to be pace setters. Which I also think Kenyans don't care much to 😂

Beautiful 🧠 surround yourself with people who nourish your brain, quality of friends. This young lady has quality focused mind '' when you're my friends or my partner, we need to have new conversation not discussion of the same vibe last year ".

I applaud you Barbara and resonate with everything you say. However the conversation left me with a vacuous feeling. On reflecting I think that ambition is best tempered by our own mortality. We strive and grow to leave something that outlasts us. When ambition and wealth are an end to themselves, you find emptiness at end of the road. Nothingness…

38:11 People judge you because they have much smaller dreams and are still dealing with the day to struggles of life. Such dreams need to be shared with a certain group of people who can relate 😂😂

Plagiarism in Kenya is so rampant and normalized. Their marketing strategy is literary downloading other people's product contents and stamping their names/ brands on it. So unoriginal.
