@@S1apShoes I love your channel and generally agree with everything you say, but the thing about an American kid never being accepted in Europe simply isn't true. Is it incredibly difficult? Absolutely, but its difficult for Australians, New Zealanders and every other kid who's not from Europe. I'm Australian and we watch our top kids fail all the time in Europe and some of them win championships only to see their team mates advance. The problem in Europe is NOT where kids are from its MONEY. Many years ago I had a boss who was into open wheel racing here in Australia and we discussed this. At one point years earlier he even went to America and drove a couple of Indy Lights races. Going from Australia to America is a monstrous leap in money. Going to Europe is an even bigger leap because of the costs. I once questioned him on that and he brought up the case of a young Australian and who was in go-karting. *This was 20 years ago* and the costs per weekend for top level karting back then could be $20,000. That's just for a weekend, not a season, just a weekend for a single cylinder go-kart. The boss had a British mechanic on the team and I asked him. He'd done F1 and Le Mans and he just laughed at me. He explained the biggest issue is the labor costs, transport costs, accommodation costs and track practice costs. So Andrew Murray's problem wasn't that he was American it was the lack of MONEY and if he couldn't afford NASCAR there's no way he could afford British Formula Ford let alone British Formula 3 or anything higher. Anyway Love the channel and can't wait to hear your explanation of that insanity at the LA Coliseum. In Australia we have this category called "Aussie Racing Cars" which is our version of American Legends 5/8 scale cars. That would have made sense in the Coliseum.

One other twist to the Red Bull Infiniti situation is that Renault & Nissan are in a strategic partnership. The Infiniti branding was the only luxury car mark that Renault had access to, hence put it on the Red Bull while Renault's own entries carried the main French marks name. Now once Red Bull moved to Honda, and Nissan to Formula E (though just sponsoring DAMS) its changed its F1 team to Alpine, its own sports luxury mark that it recently revived. Not to say anything you said was untrue, just I think it was the French dollars and the fact that the Infiniti sponsorship grew heavily, becoming a title sponsor in 2013. Ironic given the falling out the two had just few years later.

I mean EJs PokeStop has never backed out on a race team... So they must be the best sponsor

I miss the commentators letting me know how the iconic Dick Trickle was doing in each race... even if he was last almost every time

Speaking of not getting paid, the story of Kimi Raikkonen returning to F1 in 2012 after a 2 year break with Lotus would be well worth a place on this series. In November 2011, he and Lotus had agreed a 2 year deal which amongst other things included a bonus which included €50,000 for every point he scored. Unfortunately for the ones in the team responsible for budgeting, with Raikkonen scoring 2 wins and a total of 390 points in those two years, the points bonus alone led to the team needing to fork out €19.5 million and coupled with the sponsor being late with their payments, it nearly bankrupted the team

Leave it to S1apSh0es and EmpLemon for making such entertaining and fascinating videos about a sport that I otherwise would have little interest in

Great series. Sorry I didn't find it before now. Where there's big money, there's always fraud.

I'd never heard that Angela Harkness story before. And I thought F1 had some shady team owners...

The one thing you did get wrong for the Red Bull part is that although infinity is the luxury brand sharing Nissan parts. Nissan at the time was owned by Renault. That’s why on the side of the F1 car it has Infinity and Renault.

Nissan and Renault have been in an alliance since 1999, but still are separate companies, Renault does not fully own them (only 43.4 %, while Nissan owns 15 % of Renault).

From what I hear, the whole Red Bull NASCAR deal was Red Bull financiers saying, “5 years, and if you don’t win the championship we’re done”

The next entry in this series should include Bang! Racing from the early 00s truck racing. This story includes Toyotas entry to NASCAR, Larry McReynolds, and Travis Kvapil. And no, it didn't end well

So never hook up with a stripper, never get involved with political figures, never get paid in stocks, make sure the sponsors got the money on the spot, make sure you're sponsors won't flake out, make sure you're team is in it for the long shot, and never trust a billionaire to pay for you're racing

11:15 "Nissan who have almost no presence in any motorsport outside of Japan" *BRUH* - Japanese SuperGT - Australian Supercar series - GT Sprint series - GT Endurance series - Nurburgring 24 - As engine supplier in LeMans' LMP2 and Daytona Prototypes (even tried their own proto in LMP1, unsuccessfully) And I'm suret there's shit ton more series and non-series events Nismo participate in, but those are the ones I can remember.
