Frost & Hicks reunited! I always imagined that you two were close friends in the unit. Although I would have liked Frost to survive the first encounter with the Aliens I can see why it was necessary for Hicks to lose both him & Apone. It was all about his character development & it also proved to Ripley that Hicks was as tough as nails. He lost the two people he'd been most friendly with during the operation & he held back any tears he may have wanted to shed. Instead he became a rock of strength for the remaining squad & without him they'd have likely not have survived as long as they did.

This podcast is fantastic! Additionally, this interview with Ricco Ross was awesome! I love the open, relaxed, thoughtful, and fun banter between Ricco & Michael. They are both such gifted & amazing actors, as well as handsome men.

Awesome to hear Ricco Ross' story! Aliens is one of my favorite movies of all time. And yes, James Cameron was right haha. I really felt it when Frost died so abruptly. He came across as one of the cool charismatic members of the team. You expected him to be one of the heroes of the story. When he suddenly goes up in flames and falls over the railing... damn.

Tim Coliceri was my acting coach in the late 90's in a building right on the corner of Hollywood Blvd & La brea. He was and is just like his character in Full metal jacket. Wild, loud, crazy, excitable and much more. He was off the chain.Great memories of him.

Well, FIRST of all, CONGRATULATIONS because we’ve surpassed 5,500 subscribers to the channel, so things are growing fast! You deserve it, Michael! That being said, I learn something new with every episode!!! About Kubrick, I know you actors hate him, and I get it, but if you were just viewers like me, I mean, Paths of Glory, The Shining… those are damn MASTERPIECES! Barry Lyndon, the agony of the child, my God, it’s impossible to film it with more anguish; 2001, even though it was special scientific cinema, could you imagine special cinema afterward without it? KUBRICK was BRILLIANT. IRREPLACEABLE. He was probably mentally ill, sure, but he was a GENIUS. Another thing is what he was like as a person. Probably zero empathy. And then I love how all the American actors of that time, who filmed at Pinewood or Elstree during that second golden age of Hollywood, were so fascinated by London and Europe! You can even tell by the way you talk. And by Chelsea in particular!! Mark Hamill’s daughter is named after that neighborhood!!! Each of you in your own style, but I think filming outside of the U.S. really left a mark on you. Ricco Ross’s experiences in England before Aliens are super interesting!! In the 80s, we in Europe were much more open-minded! And I’ve already mentioned everything about Aliens, but A) the marines’ deaths are ICONIC, just like Cameron said, and B) sorry for Remar, but Michael Biehn was destined to play Hicks. There’s no debate about that. Magnificent conversation! Very well done, super fun, and really informative! And both of you were and still are “Pretty Boys”!!! 😉😉😉😉😉😉😉

I worked on the set on Full Metal Jacket, it was shot at Beckton and the Isle of Dogs in London. Being a Londoner me and some friends were buzzing that we were working on this set, we were being paid well but after a while we were like fkn hell, when's this gonna end !!! Yeah Slough is a proper sh*thole lol Loved this, man I wish it was longer, only know Ricco from Aliens but man he's done some cool stuff

Jill Ireland didn’t die till 1990…not sure how Bronson was in mourning over her death in 1985
@M-113Ай бұрын
Jill Ireland was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1984 , right around the time they were filming Death Wish 3 , I am sure it weighed heavy on both husband and wife mentally when they found out .. Charley was most likely beside himself on set trying to get this movie made and dealing with the thought of his wife dying .. So it makes sense what Ricco stated about Charley's demeanor on the set , he was distracted and distraught ..
@M-113Ай бұрын
If I am requesting a guest , bring in James Remar , get the two Hicks's together , and lay it all out .. then surprise the fuck out of him and bring in James Cameron at the end .. just saying ..

I am confused here. he said Charles Bronsons wife had died and he was in mourning during the filming of Death Wish 3. death wish 3 came out in 1985. probably shot in 84. Jill ireland died in 1990. so Charlie probably wasnt in mourning he was just in a bad mood as usual.. maybe she was diagnosed with Breast cancer during filming? and died 5 or 6 years later.. Anyway..
