I strap my LE everywhere I go, daily. Between working in lawn care, customers angry dogs, and the general boldness of assholes anymore the Byrna LE is a cornerstone of my edc and outside of the home defense.

I'm still on the fence about the S2. The lack of conceal carry options other than putting it in a sling or backpack for public carry is one thing. Another being is if you have to use it in public and the local police aren't familiar with it, you could have some problems on your hands as the S2 website states this is for home use. You might have some trouble trying to convince the locals that it isn't some deadly CO2 based weapon if they aren't open minded. With a Byrna they are specifically designed for public and home defense, not to mention they have the backing of police departments and government agencies as we all know which isn't a get out jail free card, but it at least gives you some credibility in explaining your case.

Great point. Too bad the reliability between the two the Byrna falls short vs the S2 (based off of what I found online)
@Joreel8 ай бұрын
Honestly it really comes down to personal preference and cost. If you're not wanting to spend a lot of money, the S2 is awesome for what it brings to the table. If you have the money then the Byrna LE is a great launcher because it functions more like a gun with it's safety and magazines so it can be fired slightly faster and its easier to reload. My experience with using a laser dot is that it hits within an inch or two of the dot so its not that big of a deal if you're aiming from the chest down. One thing to keep in mind is that beanbag rounds are filled with pellets that although their supposed to spread out the impact, they dont always do that which can cause them to impact harder in one spot that they're supposed to. The round ammo that we use is less likely to do that kind of penetration because they're designed to bounce after impact. That being said, like you said less lethal can sometimes be more lethal than we think, even with the Byrna and S2 depending on where you hit someone. With the HDX I have for home defense, I shoot for the chest, abs, and legs... Never the face or neck because in those areas it's just to easy to seriously injure or kill someone by accident.

They make the safety like that on the S2 because your hand is right in front of the barrel taking the mag in and out. Also I think you didn't mention price. Salt Supply S2 is 229 dollars the Byrna LE is 509. Thats a huge price difference. Is the Byrna worth almost $300 more? If I was on the fence between the two I would spend less and get the S2.
@r.r34223 ай бұрын
I would go with the Salt Supply S2 because you can use any 68 cal. ammo on the market, whereas the Byrna only uses there brand of ammo.

The Byrna LE seems to remain the standard for Less Lethal Launchers. Other launchers just seem to be a Less costly version. Use the 4 gram Byrna projecties. Use the oil contained co2.
