Just a quick tip. Snow foam first on a dry vehicle. No need to pre rinse. Far more effective.

It's closer to 1200kg I think. Very light considering its performance spec and having cast iron suspension components. Quite easy to get some weight out though such as air con, air pump and the spare wheel. Titanium exhaust I put on mine was 20kg lighter than the OEM system.

H morse code beeping indicates door open with key in ignition. If you get it whilst the key isn't in the ignition, perhaps the switch for detecting the key in the barrel is defective. Handbrake light on all of the time is usually indicative of low brake fluid level, check the reservoir. Likely issues you'll encounter: timing chain tensioner may need a refurb, going aftermarket may prove more successful than OEM replacement. Valve clearances may need adjusting if it's not been done in a while. Suspension geometry may be out of alignment, if not adjusted in a while may have seized which can be costly to sort. Clutch master cylinder has seals known to perish if the fluid isn't changed often. Definitely change the fluid, but also check for signs of leakage on the pushrod through the bulkhead in the pedal box. If leaking, you'll need a new master cylinder. Bearings on accessory belt pulleys may be noisy, bearings are very cheap and can be swapped out with a press. Oh, and rust! Other than that, should be good! Lots of information on the forums, very few issues and those that there are have been well documented with preventative fixes. Get the battery sorted sooner rather than later otherwise you'll be putting extra strain on the alternator. Can lead to rectifier failure, again a cheap fix, can be repaired separately. You'll know if this is the case, put some load on (heated mirrors, A/C, headlights) at idle. You'll see a slightly flickering backlight on the RPM gauge. This car doesn't have traction control (no light on dash). Was an option in 2006 MY onwards, became standard equipment in 2008.

I looked at these years ago before I finally decided to buy my Porsche but I wanted an Automatic and I found out that they never made an Auto during the entire production cycle .... Otherwise it looks like one sweet little roadster with that NA 4 cylinder beast under the hood.

I had one of these back in 05, same colour as yours. The mats were an issue if I recall correctly. The standard Honda mat only filled the footwell in front of the cross member. There was an Australian after market supplier called Muz who made the sort of mat you have which protects the carpet over the cross member. I think the mats had a separate clip you had to fasten to the carpet and then the mat clipped on top through the holes. I never did cos it was a pain. They also supplied Velcro because, as with yours, the mats don’t really hug the cross member. Hope that geekery is helpful. I loved the cockpit and the controls, the gearshift is the best I’ve ever used. But, 9,000 rpm is novel for about a day. In normal driving I found it really dull, the engine is dull and gutless at normal rpm/speed, awful lifeless steering. I sold it feeling it was the biggest disappointment I’d ever had. All the MX5’s I’ve had have been miles more fun. Having said that, I still spend time poring over Autotrader……. Until I see the prices they are going for 😂

With a few upgrades you'll hit above 300hp quite easily. Take care of OEM stuff you replace. I made the mistake of throwing my civics front carpets worth 500e used... Search for the s2000 and 911 gt3 rs touge race in japan, very nice.
@tobiaswittwer93988 ай бұрын
By "a few upgrades" I assume you're talking about a supercharger or turbocharger? These cars appear to deliver around 220-230 bhp stock and I don't see how you would get a naturally aspirated 2l engine up to 300 bhp without a significantly increased redline. A Porsche GT3 does about 130 bhp per litre of displacement with a 9k redline.
@2Drezik8 ай бұрын
@@tobiaswittwer9398 yeah i kind of sent a mixed message there when i said 'easily' it's never easy or cheap. They do around 240,250 stock. So yes i'm talking around 300hp N/A, especially on the AP2 version. A small turbo setup, will be easier indeed and hit more power. I watch a video yesterday where a guy with a b18 EF actually was faster on the nurbring against a modern gt3 rs, so power figures are not everything 😉
