All throughout the swimming part (6:20) exynos was constantly at the same level if not better. The problem with exynos chipset is that it isnt reliable yet. When they will partner up with AMD, exynos will be a better all around chipset

In real life, there's impossible to see differences if not using some software to see diagrams. SD overheated in stress test in one video. So constant playing with graphic demanding game will heat up SD888 a lot in long period, that's not good.

Good job Golden Reviewer, more test between the two SOCs will be a great added value. So far, GPU is the only weakness for Exynos, compared to last year Samsung was able to improve CPU performance and battery consumption (so 2 out of 3). I don't use my mobile just for gaming so I think the Exynos is good enough for me this time around, the SD 888 is not worth the hassle. By the way Exynos is a new chip so its performance on Genshin might improve in the near future..

Can you do some benchmarking in the domains/ dungeon gameplay, as these are the areas that most players spend thier time playing in. Could you also test coop mode to see which device is more playable?

I have the S21+ Exynos and during domains / dungeons and abyss the phone is doing really well compare to the open world.

Domains will get a much higher fps as it doesn't need to load the open world in, just the closed space and the pre determined waves of monsters

Hello there! Saw your channel randomly pop up on my feed and I must say I've learnt a lot! Hope you get some returns from youtube for all the costs incurred in doing these tests coz its damn expensive! One burning (pun intended!) question I have is, how does the SD888 in the S21U compare to the Mi11? Does it overheat as well or could it be that the Mi11 used a lower bin of the SD888?

I tested them by specint and I see virtually the same results, so no, Xiaomi is not using lower binned chips

Seems to be better optimised than the SD888 (i suspect this has something to do with QC using off the shelf architecture rather than custom cores, if you remember the SD810 fiasco using off the shelf architecture for 64-bit computing)

The oem can limit the temps of the device in software. Xiaomi just has a higher limit than samsung.

I have not run the benchmark on S21Ultra, I'll do and report back. If I have to make a guess I think it'll throttle rather then overheat. That's how Samsung and Apple usually handles it

The exynos is still terrible it was at the 20 and 30 ranges the majority of the test even going as low as 18fps while the SD hit the 30s much less, staying mostly in the 40s and 50s

From battery and temperature Samsung is better as he said, the chipset of Qualcomm and exynos are limited to use less battery and mantein the thermal for long times of gaming, against xiaomi which use more battery and make it uncomfortable to use it after a time but gives some extra fps
