Awesome trip and work on the Land Cruiser. Despite the naysayers I think it was an excellent job capitalising on workable spaces. I like it when Jerome reacted to your haiya not 100%. Truly a professional DIY. Looking forward to your continuing trip, and the accompanying narratives (and food of course). Best from Auckland.

The kitchen setup is very nice. Jerome is very creative to come up with that design. The preview of the next episode has me worried about the mechanical problem. I hope it was an easy fix.

I would not have cut off any metal from the door where your spare wheel is mounted. It could compromise the strength and/or reduce the max weight the wheel mount could handle. If that amount of steel wasn't needed, I'm sure Toyota would have designed the inner door skin with more holes. Imagine the tonnes of steel they would have saved if you add all the total numbers sold. I hope it doesn't pose any problems for you in the future.

The (prototype) folding table looks really good. Kudos to Jerome. With Jerome haiya remind me of uncle Roger (but please don't use MSG 😄). Finally re: your mechanical trouble, it sounds like you have a clogged fuel line and the system cannot maintain the fuel pressure needed. I hope it will be an easy fix for you. Good luck and enjoy the adventure. Looking forward to the next episode.

If it was me, I wouldn't have cut any metal part of the door structure. That could weaken the structural integrity and strength of the spare wheel mount. Considering you're now carrying a much heavier spare wheel that the OEM. There are drop down tables for the 70 Series that don't require any door skin modification. But then again, you don't go offroad, so it might not be a big an issue 🤞
@fatmanoverlandingАй бұрын
I had the same thought. The structural integrity could be compromised long term. But you're right, she doesn't really go off-road, so it probably would be OK.

If I want to do table extension on the rear door... It would be Aluminium and Carbon fiber for lightest weight and ridgit application for not stressing on door hinch and table usage. Wood isn't in my mind for mobile camper.... Because it is heavy , not long lasting and termite friendly materials

Did Singapore custom check all the staff you bring and kacau you at the custom,cause you are driving not Johor plate and bring so many camping staff ...especially got kitchen knife and some sharp tool in your car, cause my bro is a fishing kaki and driving a KL plate 4x4 ,many years ago he kena stop at Singapore custom and enter thier polis office for question because they found a bear spray at the door side in his 4x4 ,but he is lucky ,they just warning him no next time ,maybe you are lucky 🙄🤷♂

That must have been a daunting experience for your bro. I didn't experience anything like that, in fact mine was smooth and quick. Merely a quick inspection of the cabin, that's all.
