The fits of the longitudinal bulkheads was perfection Alan. The seam looked uniform the entire length including the sides and tops of the keel battens. Always a joy to watch your videos twice. Take care and have a good weekend.

Good work Alan. It's nice to see all the steps necessary for the build. Your explanations are krystal clear. This will help all of those that have decided to endeavour such a project. Can't wait to have a look at it. 😎

I don't think that modern tool makers are so confident in their product to emboss it on the tool, lol

Hi Alan, Looking good. Great to watch your progress, but could you dump the fish eye lens, the regular lens shows a true perspective. Really looking forward to more progress, she’s gonna be a fine ship.

I think that the gopro does that when trying to get a wide angle. I'll see what I can do.

@@RoversAdventure great. I am sure the fish eye lens has its place in this world, but it does make it difficult to see what is really happening. Other than that keep em coming. Great work

It’s so fun to watch it come together. Here’s a question that I struggle with: when is one supposed to use titebond vs thickened epoxy?
@RoversAdventure2 жыл бұрын
Two flat surfaces that will be inside and away from anywhere that is likely to be immersed would be a good use for titebond. Thickened epoxy is great everywhere especially when gap filling is needed, but it is messy and more expensive.

So your level is… on the level. A straight shooter one might say… Ok, I’ll stop there. Nice work as always Alan. I’m working with pvc as you know. I almost always use a panel saw to cut the pvc/epoxy/fibreglass sandwich as apposed to a jigsaw. The panel saw cuts nice straight lines without trying ( unlike the jigsaw that wanders ) and it’s way faster.
@RoversAdventure2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Robin, I would imagine you are enjoying some perfect temperatures for your epoxy work. I've had that level for years. Levels today (generally of poorer quality) are afraid to make such a bold statement.

@@RoversAdventure Pluses and minuses really. The slower cure times can be both a help and a hindrance. I really have to wait two days now before the epoxy really sets hard enough to sand, but it’s nice not to have to rush to get it out of the pot before it cooks off. But I shouldn’t complain. At least I’m not dealing with freezing temperatures and the problems that come with that. Cheers

Did you saturate the bottom edge of the longitudinal with thin epoxy?

I have a great pair of knee pads but they are packed away with our household goods. Once the house is built and our belonging unpacked I will get them. Hopefully that happens in the next few months.
