5:30 I dont understand. Why wouldn't both CH3 peaks be the same size if they have the same number of protons in that chemical environment?

For the ethyl ethanoate example, I cannot find any data about a CH3- having a ppm of 2 on the data booklet. Where can I find these values?

It should have a ppm of around 1 but because of the electronegative oxygen atom it shifts downfield.

Ethyl ethanoate example: according to the data booklet, a chemical shift of 1.3 ppm corresponds to a -CH2R group. Could you please explain why there is a CH3 group at 1.3 ppm (which according to the data booklet corresponds to a chemical shift of 0.9-1.0). I really appreciate any help you can provide.

The presence of an electronegative atom (oxygen) causes the chemical shift to move downfield.

1-chloropropane has three different chemical environments that contain protons; the two protons in the CH2Cl group, the two protons in the CH2 group and the three protons in the CH3 group. 2-chloropropane has two different chemical environments that contain protons; the two protons in the CH2Cl group and the six protons in the two CH3 groups.

for the IB, do we need to what the peaks would look like if there were carbons and protons on both sides of a central carbon?
