And perhaps the advent and availability of the contraceptive pill fed into this countercultural revolution too? Whereas the older generation had to have a certain amount of social conservatism, particularly in their attitudes towards young women, lest they fall pregnant, once the pill came along these attitudes were now a little obsolete and archaic?

Yep, the evidence suggests you're right and the pill was a significant part of the counter-cultural revolution in the 60s and beyond.

Blame the feminists for that one its all their as part of planned parenthood to not have so many reprobate minds born until Gen Z who are lining up for sterilization. The truth is they wanted to stop blacks having so many babies h they tried in many ways AIDS, famine, We are the World, USA for Africa etc but didnt work that well just destroyed their families...

I think i would have heard about this at law school. You are talking about the 50s. Now you are putting two stories together. No compulsory military training in NZ

Actually it wasn't 21 for drinking in the 70s or 80s, it was 20. In the late 70s or 80s they allowed 18 year olds to drink in a pub if their guardian or parent was with them.
