S3 E3 The origin of using Blue LED Light on Comics by Joseph J. Topczewski, Phd. This video discusses the origin of using 450-460 nm Blue-LED light for the purpose of comic book stain removal and whitening. We acknowledge it isn't the first time the light was used for cleaning teeth, toys or game systems. This is about using the blue light waves on comics and paper. We address the misconception that Blue LED (450-460 nm) is UV light (defined as wavelengths between 100 nm and 400 nm). We offer a simple explanation on why these lights work so well.

I’ve been using 460 nm blue LED light panels that were originally designed for plants but they are strictly blue LED. I’ve had great success and I do credit captain Myke for the initial design. Instead of using that particular bulb, I chose a broader blue light panel that is 12” x 12”. I put one above and below this allows me to treat the book fairly quickly.

Thnx for this video Joseph very well explained I had some questions about the different bulbs. UV and black light and they have been answered in this vid. The BLED bulb was not sold in the Europe Amazon’s stores so I had to order it from the US store. So I hope they will come to me in one piece 😂 thnx again greetings Erik from PRESSKAMMER comics
