This was great. Bryan has influenced my life and my walk with Jesus for decades. I'm so thankful he is faithfully walking with the Lord.

Thank you for watching and commenting, Laura; we are grateful! It was certainly an honor to have been granted an interview with Bryan. He's a big part of Christian rock history, helping to pave the way for the genre via Sweet Comfort Band! Such a fun, funny and talented gentleman who is still serving The Lord! Blessings! -Kent

CLASSIC! CLASSIC! CLASSIC! .....Words cannot describe what this band meant to me from SCB to Bryan's solo and let's not forget about The NehoSoul Band who brought us three albums that included a Christmas album. Bryan if you are reading this, never estimate your purpose and significance in the hand of God. He is the minister through you that touches so many. You first day in Heaven is going to overwhelm you when you learn of the impact you've made by being pliable in the masters hands!

Went to Calvary Chapel concerts every Saturday. Our favorite was The Sweet Comfort Band❣️ Took my best friend to their concert in Costa Mesa and she got saved. We even named our son Bryan after Bryan Duncan! Had all their albums too❣️ Thank you Bryan!!! “I Love You With My Life” was my all time favorite song back then!

Thank you for sharing from your personal journey! Wonderful that your friend received Christ's salvation at a SCB concert! I would have loved to have been at the many concerts hosted at Calvary Chapel back then: Petra, Resurrection Band, Sweet Comfort Band, DeGarmo & Key, etc... You might check back with us on August 3rd: If our scheduling roster remains intact, we will have another SCB member as our interview guest on that date! Wishing you The Lord's continued blessings! -Kent

This was so awesome! I wore Bryan Duncan cassettes out back in the day. Loved his voice and it influenced my singing later on. Also when I was 19 I saw him in concert at a church. At the end I asked if he would sing on one of my songs. I was blown away when he said yes. I lived in San Diego at the time. He drove all the way down and sang on my song and of course killed it. To this day I can’t believe he was so cool and humble to have done that. He used to always call me the cocky guitar player 😂

Great interview once again Rex and Kent. I first got into Sweet Comfort Band back in 1981 when I was attending a small Christian junior college near Allentown, Pa. A buddy of mine had "Hearts of Fire" and just loved it. Songs like Isabel and Contender were favorites of mine. But Bryan Duncan''s song You Need A reason still hits home with me. All of Sweet Comfort Band albums are great. Rex and Kent, keep up the great work you guys are doing!!

Isabel, Contender and Valerie are all favorites of mine from the SCB catalog. I was acquainted with Bryan's solo material first - even saw him on the "Anonymous Confessions" tour - but later got into SCB. To me, SCB was an important piece of history as a band that shifted gears from "Jesus Music" into early "Christian Rock". Whatever SCB was, they sure were talented! It truly was an honor to be able to converse with Bryan: an extremely talented musician and a pioneer of the genre. Thank you for commenting and for your kind words, Gerald! May The Lord be glorified! -Kent

This is great, Bryan has played a HUGE part of my salvation testimony, it was SCB that was the first Christian music when I was a teenager, and God truly used it powerfully in my life. To this day, my testimony is that my salvation "theme song" is "When I Was Alone". Thank you for your faithfulness Bryan, and great job with the interview to the two of you!

SCB and Bryan were my staples as a kid. Got through youth problems and young adult challenges listening to them. I wasn’t allowed to listen to secular music and SCB was way too contemporary for the 1970’s so i had to hide the albums in my room.

I can recall those times in which the parents didn't understand our "CCM". The "battle" of having to explain all the time bothered me to some degree back then, but looking back as a parent myself now, I can appreciate the fact that my parents meant well and were simply concerned for my well-being in accordance with their knowledge. I am glad that SCB and Bryan were utilized by The Lord to minister to you! Blessings! -Kent

I learned of SCB and became a lifelong fan in 1984, the year they disbanded. The music and message of SCB has been very impactful to my life! I would love to see just one more album from SCB!

Hey, brother Scott! Thank you for checking out Bryan's episode! If you're ever in the mood for some "jazz-rock" a la Steely Dan, or early Chicago-ish styled rock back by a horn section, I highly recommend starting with Sweet Comfort Band's first album. It's a great blend of classic rock incorporating various styles. Blessings! -Kent

@@AREA312RockMetalVodcast You know, what's funny?? I dreamt I arranged a seminar for young musicians and that I had invited Duncan. And there were enormously many who booked into the seminar with him. The only thing was, that I didn't have any place to put him!! (I have been wondering about gathering people to a "dwellingplace" in France, also for conferances, but it has been much more harder to put this concept through, than I expected, so that might have been the worries in my dream😐. But that's the sad thing, many people signed up... 😭 But nowhere to place people like him) Though I have not given up, yet!! I'm still trying to make contacts, crossover projects for musicians, for "restoring the broken voice" in Europe... (It was supposed to be a little bit of avpraying concept wrapped in music too, in it as well, like you know, "A voice in the desert, make way... But many don't know the impact of music/sound in the invisible realm, so.. )

@@RestoreTheBody Music is certainly a gift given to us by The Father of the Heavenly Lights. It is certainly a vessel for and a form of worship to The Creator. The same God that we serve today - the True and Living God of Israel - is the same God who parted the Red Sea and brought His children across. May The Lord's will be done in our respective lives, and may we keep our confidence strong in the True and Living God who leads His children with a mighty hand. May we listen for His voice and serve Him as He directs us. Wishing you The Lord's blessings! -Kent
