Is the coupper plug any play? No coding needed?
@gregsouls26662 ай бұрын
Couldn't you have just unplugged it to get it to stop spinning, then gone for a ride to see if the noise stopped?

What does the electrical portion of the coupler do?
@s33therfan17 күн бұрын
It basically controls the awd , and how much and when it needs to apply it. Thanks for the feedback.

is the rear differntial coupling considered part of the drivetrain or part of the differential or not part of either. Warranty company trying to get out of paying for this repair.
@s33therfan2 ай бұрын
If the warranty covers the drivetrain then it should be covered. Thank you for the feedback , hope all goes well with the repair.

Is coupling assembly and rear differential the same part?
@s33therfan19 күн бұрын
You can buy the complete diffetential assembly but it is twice the cost and work. The coupling is a part of the differential assembly that controls the awd. I will say if you are not sure which part has failed replacing the entire assembly might be a good option. Thanks for the feexback.

@ thanks for the feedback! So it if I replace differential assembly the coupling is part of it?
@60SLUGSS6 ай бұрын
So mine started making that noise than instantly started clanking and everything. I'm assuming I gotta replace the whole differental or how should I go about out this
@s33therfan6 ай бұрын
I would try and check it out first like I did in the video. It isn't just that the differential is more expensive , but there is a lot more work required , plus a trip to the alignment shop. If you remove the coupler you should be able to feel the bearing drag. It's not always but most of the time the coupler is at fault. The aftermarker I put on mine is still working perfect. Thanks for the feedback.

The wires to my Rogue AWD coupling unit were chewed by mice or something. Does anyone know where I can get just that wire pigtail? The Stealership said they don't sell it and if I were to bring the car in with this problem they would replace the entire unit at a cost of over $3,000 parts & labor. A used one will do.
@s33therfan3 ай бұрын
It will require a lot searching for certain to find one. I am sure the connector is used for other applications so it will be a matter of finding a match. I actually remember a time not so many years ago that you could go to the dealership and they could order about any pigtail or part you needed for that matter. Thanks for the feedback.

t sound like the Rogue is about to take off, hopefully to another planet.

Ha , exactly . Thank you for watching.

Why wouldn't you just put the car in neutral and hand turn the rear wheel so that all four driveshaft bolts were exposed?
@s33therfan5 ай бұрын
You can do that for sure with the wheels lifted and everything carefully supported. I actually had to do just that towards the end of the video , because I had moved the car and the drive shaft was not lining up. Thanks for watching.

Oddly enough My Rogue is currently at the Stealership. And they're telling me, tgat the rear coupler also needs to be replaced. Not sure how you got a $300. Price tag for it. Because, Nissan's parts department told me the part cost a Whopping $2,725.00 So im a bit confused. I guess it been a fkn headache for a Lonnnnh time. FFS, Youd think by now, theyd have there shit fixed.

I wonder if they are required to replace the whole differential. Seems way too expensive for a coupler. Their oem bearings don't seem all that good at the rate of failure . I know I am glad it was only the coupler , the rear diff is way more work. Also I had just had an alignment done and would have disturbed that as well. Anyways the aftermarket coupler is working great , so far no issues. Thank you for the feedback.
