This is THE BEST demonstration on how to change the headlights. Approximately a year ago, I searched throughout KZbin for how to replace my headlight, and all of the videos that I found showed that this would require removing the Entire front end to accomplish it. Therefore, I ended up having Mazda do it for ONE BULB. It cost over $100!!! Stupid me, I had them change a rear light. That cost $30!!! Thanks SO VERY MUCH s33therfan!

Mines the opposite. Mazda is the worst cars ever made. Everything on a mazda was designed by a jerk. This is not an easy job. I watched 4 times now and ur car was easy but the spring on my car doesnt unlock nothing. Triec ten times now to get it to unlock. Mazdas suck and i recommend if u have one get rid of it. I am going to have to remove the whole front bumper just to change a dang lightbulb. The leak exhaust. Clutch slips engine leaks. All mazdas are horrible cars. Do urself a favor and get rid of it
@joecastaneda61953 жыл бұрын
@@bobrapier I agree it was no easy task, it took me an 2 hours to finally get the spring to release the bulb. The main fix was to move the metal latch around the wire of the bulb itself and then wiggle the bulb enough for it to come out. The main reason it’s so difficult is because you can barely even fit your hands inside there and you can’t see what your doing either unless your at an awkward angle above the car. Btw it took 2 hours because I kept taking short breaks due to the insane amount of frustration.

I have a 2007 Mazda 6 and every time I have to change the bulbs, I wind up wanting a few beers after. You can do it without taking everything else apart, but it's incredibly awkward, since you can't see any of it or easily get leverage, or even light to it. This video is great as you give such a clear view of how things line up. The toughest part about this whole thing is after you connect the new bulb, getting it oriented properly so the / shaped part is pointing at the little bit where the spring catches and then somehow using just touch to hold it in place and work that little spring back over. I just did both of mine - thanks for the helpful video. Now, beers.

Yes indeed there is no seeing anything and barely any room to do anything . To make matters worse you either have wear gloves or make sure you absolutely don't touch a bulb while feeling it into place . I like to see if it can be done at all without removing things to avoid extra work . What's surprising is that most new vehicles now days you have remove the bumper fender wells partially and various other stuff just to change the bulbs because you cannot get to them without removing the entire headlamp. This video was a huge help, thank you!! Especially appreciate how you described and showed the pin mechanism from another angle. Ps. For any other Mazda 6 2005 Sports Wagon owners here - I found that the process in this video worked perfect for the driver's side light; however, the passenger side light was too difficult to access in this manner. For that side, I found that it was much easier to simply turn my wheels to the left, then remove enough of the pins holding the passenger-side wheel well cover in place so that you can peel back the cover and reach up to the headlight cap from that direction. (This is one of the methods is described in Autozone's 'Headlight change' video, in case you could use a visual for that)

I've heard of these Mazda 6 having harness issue , but the information was vague . Wonder if it is alternator related . I've been on forums where people were talking about losing high beams low beams but bulbs being good . These cars do some puzzling things . Probably a lot of engineering flaws that get passed through and then people get to deal with it. It's a good thing he has you to count on to help fix things for sure. Thanks for the info I'm going to remember that in case it happens on mine. Thanks for checking out the video
@baxrok2.6 жыл бұрын
FWIW, I didn't change the alternator just because of the bulbs. The alternator was indeed bad and only putting out 12v. I just though it was an odd coincidence that it went bad and those bulbs blew out. Guess we'll see what happens!

I noticed something really weird on my Mazda 6 in the fuse box in engine bay, the harness that the white flip up connector is on your left , the only one in the box . But one of the connector pins holes looks almost burned or damaged . Anyways haven't had any known issues but when I was at salvage yard I thought hey , I'll get a good one while I'm here . There were 4 mazda 6 there and every single one of them had the same exact burn mark damage area on the harness connector . Just curious if you've ever noticed anything on yours like that .

I have a 2008 Mazda 6 like the one in your video and I'm wondering if you know why there is a small bulb inside the high beam cavity and what is the replacement part number?
@s33therfan4 жыл бұрын
Its a parking light . It calls for a 2825 but other mini bulbs will interchange . Great question. Thank you for watching
