Well my guess is they always crack up at their extra characters because they ultimately decide who they cast AND they act in it so they get to witness the reason why they chose those people first hand. A good example is Mac always cracking up at the woman who plays his mom. You can tell it was probably his decision to cast her because the bloopers involving her are always because Rob starts dying
