19:50 - The last option, you're being blind. You were showing it down and left of the ship space while looking at Norbit. That end is just a simple timer that gets reset when the launch signal is being sent to the ship. For the Njord end, the tick only replaces the "ship is full" detection. So if the other ship arrives while the current ship is actively loading, it won't leave. I'm currently undecided if I should also allow it to replace the actively loading one as well.

Oh yes, it's right there! OK, I don't know how I missed that one. >.< I think you probably don't want to replace an actively loading one - might as well let it finish that trainload before it goes. That said, I don't think it matters!

Hi Laurence! It's been a while, glad to see you still on the grind. My buddy and I are looking at getting back at it, but we originally stopped due to our machines not keeping up with how fast the server was running the game. I was wondering how your server is set up to get around this issue once you're this deep in and have so much going on.

Hello and welcome back! Yeah, I feel like we're on the home straight, but said straight is still quite long! Our server is slightly slower than my computer, so in theory we shouldn't have to worry about it, however we've been gradually decreasing the gamespeed to ensure that I can keep up (mine seems to be the weakest link!) - you can see the UPS in the top corner, it should be 60, but it's generally around 30 for us these days. To set the gamespeed, open the console and type: /c game.speed=0.5 where 0.5 is the speed you want to run at, with 1 being normal speed (60UPS). That will allow you to keep playing no matter how slow your computer is ... but it might be a bit painful waiting for things to happen!

29:00 - In hindsight, the counterpoint to this is that a stack of cores is only 50 items so it loads/unloads 2.5 times faster. I don't think that's a good enough reason to transport them as cores but it is technically a benefit

A fair point. Depends what we're trying to optimise for, I guess.

13:30 - looks like fluid shortage is limiting the crystals so more input would help
@LaurencePlays3 ай бұрын
Oh yes, I think you're right - I was looking at the stopped belt for the powder, hadn't noticed the fluid was being sent over for crystals too! More input it is then 🙂

5:54 I was thinking about the sand. Would it be worth it to smelt it into glass on Taras and ship glass back instead of sand? It stacks lower afaik 🙂
@LaurencePlays3 ай бұрын
The idea had occurred to me, although I haven't really thought it all the way through. The upside is that yes - it would be fewer stacks, the downside is that it's less flexible because then we can't make it into silicon, or anything else that sand is used for. however, I suspect it might be worth it, especially for Taras, which produces far more than other outposts. Certainly something to look into! Good shout 🙂

I suspect glass would currently be loaded into the purple chest. I'll sort out that end next stream. We might want to ship it as a mix of glass and silicon. Nauvis could send the current stock levels of both and Taras could turn off the production of whichever is higher (which would give signal loss protection of just producing both - although given it's Nauvis, we will have major concerns if we're getting brown outs!)

@@giantlobster Yeah, it'll need some looking into, but it definitely has potential! It wouldn't be much harder to set up dual processing lines as well, so I might as well do that while I'm out there. I don't think sand goes into anything else (and I've just closed the game!) so it shouldn't be too complex.
