Thanks. Was a little bit baffled by how little Roo gives rides money compared to GF and Foodpanda. But for roo imho, it’s best for me as in my experience they aren’t that harsh to seasoned riders who worked ad-hoc like me.

This is not a fair comparison. Because earnings differs from vehicle mode, e.g: walker, bicycle, ebike or motorcycle. It also differs from area or zones. Running costs of each vehicle mode also different greatly.

All 3 of us are using ebikes, started same time at 10.15am starting point is the same area at teck whye and we finish taking the last order at 3.15pm.

grab's algorithm is such. when you switch on your app, wait at tt location. if you move away, will bring you back to where you start. for non-shift, take note. after 2hrs or so, it will tend to bring you back to home location to test if you want to stop working. if you continue, it will tend to bring you further from your starting location such that you may end up very far from your starting point by the time you stop work. that's the reason why there is a delay in getting orders. cos the algorithm is searching for the correct combination (time taken to pickup order/s, time taken to deliver food, earnings for that hour) shift is best. you are stuck in tt zone. hence, b2b. sometimes will get super short distance trip to fill in earnings per hr. foodpanda, how far you travel per order depends on your tier. each tier's earning per hour is also fixed.

@@grabadventures no worries. i used to do food delivery during covid. now driving phv back. so the algorithm is similar. end of the day, the earnings per hr is tied to your tier. if you exceed the earnings, you will realise you get a trip to slow your earnings. you can compare days to see this pattern

On the x16 i can see the voltage hence i can moderate my energy consumption. So far I have ridden for 6 hours and I usually have enough juice left to go home. However if i am going to so longer i will put a spare battery in the delivery bag.

Noob Question seeking clarity : Is it true that Grab driver/Rider app need access to all you phone contacts, sms, photos , videos in your phone? Emails too? And if not granted it access we cannot work for Grab? If so, why the majority riders all don't find this an issue? If this is true I would use a cheap phone just for gig work to safeguard my privacy.

There is a degree of control delivery partners have to accept when using driver apps. However the solution is as you said. Use a dedicated phone for food delivery.

No that depends on your tier ranking. The higher your the faster you can book and off peak shifts will become available.

U can try to reassign before cancelling. Just make sure don't cancel too many as it will affect cancellation rate.
